WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS DURING A THERAPEUTIC COACHING SESSION?

There is no pressure to arrive knowing exactly what to say.

We usually begin by gently exploring what has brought you to the session, what feels difficult right now and what you would like to feel different.

Depending on your needs, a session might include,

🌿 Talking through thoughts, feelings or experiences
🌿 Exploring patterns that may be keeping you stuck
🌿 Learning practical tools for anxiety, overwhelm or emotional regulation
🌿 Building confidence, boundaries or self-belief
🌿 Relaxation, visualisation or hypnotherapy
🌿 Agreeing one small, manageable step to try

Sessions are collaborative. I won’t tell you how you should feel or push you to discuss something before you are ready.

You set the pace. My role is to listen, support and help you understand yourself with greater compassion.

You don’t need to have it all worked out before asking for help.

A Reminder for the Child Who Finds School Hard

To the child or young person finding school hard right now……….

Struggling does not mean you are lazy.

Needing support does not mean you have failed.

Feeling overwhelmed does not mean you are “too sensitive.”

Taking longer to settle does not mean you will never feel comfortable.

You may be carrying worries that other people cannot see, about lessons, friendships, noise, mistakes, expectations or simply getting through the door.

Please remember that you deserve to be listened to. You deserve support that looks beyond behaviour and tries to understand what is happening underneath it.

One hard day is not your whole story. 💙

HOW CAN COACHING AND HYPNOTHERAPY WORK TOGETHER?

Coaching helps us explore what is happening in your life now, your thoughts, feelings, habits, goals and the patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

Hypnotherapy can support the deeper emotional and subconscious responses connected to those patterns.

Together, they may help you,

🌿 Understand why something keeps happening
🌿 Develop practical ways to manage it
🌿 Strengthen confidence and self-belief
🌿 Rehearse new responses in a calm, focused state
🌿 Create changes that feel realistic and meaningful

You remain aware and in control throughout hypnotherapy. Nothing is done “to” you. We work collaboratively, and you can stop at any time.

It isn’t about magically changing who you are.

It is about helping you access the strengths and resources that may feel difficult to reach when you are overwhelmed.

WHAT FEELS HARDEST ABOUT SEPTEMBER FOR YOU?

For some people, September feels like a fresh start.

For others, it brings pressure, disrupted routines, school worries, financial stress or the feeling that everything suddenly needs to begin again.

Perhaps it’s:

🍂 Getting everyone back into a routine
🍂 School anxiety or separation
🍂 Earlier mornings
🍂 A growing to-do list
🍂 The darker evenings approaching
🍂 Feeling as though you “should” be more organised

There is no right way to feel about September.

What feels hardest for you this year?

You can share below, or simply use this as a moment to acknowledge what you’re carrying. 💚

“How was school?”

“Fine.”

Sound familiar? After processing hundreds of moments during the day, a broad question can feel surprisingly difficult to answer.

Try one of these instead:

• What made you smile today?

• Was there a moment that felt tricky?

• Who did you spend time with?

• What was the calmest part of your day?

• Did anything surprise you?

• What do you need this evening, company, quiet, food or movement?

And remember, children often talk when the pressure is off, in the car, while walking, at bedtime or while doing something alongside you.

After-School Restraint Collapse

Does your child appear to cope all day at school, then fall apart as soon as they get home?

The tears, anger, shouting, withdrawal or seemingly “disproportionate” reaction may be a release after working incredibly hard to manage expectations, sensory input, learning and social situations throughout the day.

Home is often where children feel safe enough to let everything out.

Before asking lots of questions, try offering a drink, a snack, quiet time, movement or simply your calm presence. Some children need connection; others need space before they can reconnect.

It is not about allowing hurtful behaviour without boundaries. It is about looking beneath the behaviour and responding to the need as well as the action

Returning to School Can Feel Big………..

Returning to school can feel like a very big step, even when a child has walked through those gates many times before.

New teachers, different classrooms, changing friendships, noise, expectations and uncertainty can all place extra demands on a child’s nervous system.

If your child is worried, they do not need to hear “There’s nothing to worry about.” They need to know that their feelings make sense and that they will not have to manage them alone.

Try saying:

“I can see this feels difficult.”

“We can take it one step at a time.”

“What would help tomorrow feel a little easier?”

Connection first. Solutions second. 💙

Hello, September

September often arrives carrying a mixture of feelings.

There may be excitement about fresh starts, new stationery and seeing friends again. But there can also be worry, uncertainty, sadness that summer is ending, or a sense of pressure to suddenly have everything organised.

You do not have to begin the month with a perfect plan or a completely positive mindset. New beginnings can feel hopeful and hard at the same time.

Take September one day at a time. Allow space for the mixed emotions, notice the small wins and remember, settling into something new is a process, not a race.

Here’s to a gentle September, one where we aim to thrive, not simply survive. 💙

As August comes to an end… 🍃

There’s something about the end of August that feels like a quiet turning point.

The evenings begin to draw in. The air starts to feel different. Summer routines slowly give way to school runs, work schedules and the familiar rhythm of everyday life.

For some, August has been filled with sunshine, holidays and precious memories. For others, it may have felt long, difficult, lonely or overwhelming. Perhaps it didn’t look anything like you hoped it would.

And for many, it has probably been a mixture of both.

As we step into September, there can be excitement about a fresh start, but also anxiety about what lies ahead. New schools, new routines, changing friendships, returning to work or simply trying to find your feet again.

Whatever August held for you, you don’t have to rush into September with everything figured out.

You are allowed to move forward gently.

Take the memories you want to keep.
Let go of the expectations that didn’t serve you.
Acknowledge what felt difficult.
And notice the small moments, the glimmers, the ones that brought even a little comfort or joy.

A new month doesn’t require a completely new you.

Sometimes, it simply offers another opportunity to pause, breathe and take the next small step.

Goodbye, August. Thank you for the moments, the memories and the lessons.

Hello, September. We’ll take you one day at a time. 💚

A BEAUTIFUL WALK TO CLEAR THE MIND

Sometimes, when your thoughts feel busy and everything seems a little too much, the best thing you can do is step outside and just walk.

No pressure to solve anything.
No expectation to have all the answers.
Just one foot in front of the other, fresh air in your lungs and nature all around you.

Today’s walk was a reminder that clearing your mind doesn’t always mean making your thoughts disappear. Sometimes, it simply means giving them a little more space.

A change of scenery, gentle movement and time in nature can help us pause, breathe and return feeling slightly calmer and more grounded.

You don’t have to climb a mountain or walk for miles. Even ten quiet minutes outside can make a difference.

What helps you clear your mind when life feels busy? 💚
