MR JOHN CLARKE

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Clarke , Funeral Director and former owner of J C Clarke and Son Funeral Directors. John has courageously fought MND ( motor neurone disease ) for the last 5 years and is now at peace .
We are honoured to be looking after funeral arrangements for John who was a special friend to us all .
Funeral service to take place on Thursday 30th July at St Paul’s Church, Helsby at 11am followed by a private committal . We send our deepest condolences to all his family .

‘Some lives leave a truly extraordinary legacy’

We are deeply honoured to have been entrusted with the funeral arrangements for Mr Arthur Aspinall, who passed away at the remarkable age of 109.

He was officially recognised as England’s oldest man.

Born in 1915, Arthur’s life journey spanned more than a century, touching countless lives along the way .

His long life spanned two world wars, the reigns of 5 British monarchs and immense changes across society.

While his longevity is remarkable, it is the memories he created, the people he loved and the life he lived that will be remembered the most.

It is a privilege for all of us at Jacqueline Wilson Independant Funeral Services to help Arthur’s loved ones celebrate a life so richly lived and to ensure the dignified farewell he deserves.

Arthur’s funeral will take place on Tuesday 7th July 2026 at St. Alban’s Church, Tattenhall, at 1:30 p.m. followed by committal at Chester Crematorium at 2:40 p.m.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time as they remember a truly special gentleman.

A huge thank you to Vale Royal Crematorium for their amazing donation of £3000 to our wonderful charity “For the love of Lydia “
For those who are not familiar with our charity , it provides wonderful holidays , staying at “Lydia’s Lodge
free of charge which is situated at Greenacres in Porthmadog. It sleeps 6 people , with three good sized bedrooms , large bathroom and shower and a fully equipped kitchen , containing a washing machine and dishwasher . Lydia’s lodge was set up after we lost our beloved daughter to a very rare form of brain cancer , aged just 6 years old . Lydias Lodge provides holidays for any families who sadly find themselves in our position , for children who are terminally ill or having treatment , this gives families precious time to spend together and treasure without worrying about cost, it also includes a pass for free access into all the entertainment and play facilities on offer . Losing Lydia was beyond painful and we will never get over it but learn to live with it . We decided to give back as a family something precious , TIME just for your family .
Here at Jacqueline Wilson funeral services, we are a true family buisness , Lydias twin sister Naomi works within the business and her eldest sister Mirrium also works within the buisness , as does Lydias Auntie Christine . We held our charity night last and raised £5000 !!
