I’ve been writing about the new social media ban for under 16s, and it’s sparked some really interesting conversations at home.

My 15 year old surprised me the most. He said the ban might actually be a good thing, as long as it applies to everyone.

“If it’s just me banned, I’d feel punished. But if it’s all of us, we’ll actually go out and do things together again.”

It really made me stop and think.
So many young people are carrying anxiety, pressure and FOMO they can’t even name. And sometimes, the thing they’re scared of losing is the very thing that’s overwhelming them.

I’ve written a blog about it, from the perspective of a therapist and a parent, and how we can support our kids through this change with calm, connection and a bit of humour along the way.
