Residents at Chestnut Lodge loved meeting three-year-old Finlay and his owner Natalie, who has kindly agreed to visit on a regular basis as part of the Pets As Therapy scheme😍
The smiles, attention and pure love our residents showed Finlay was off the scale. We can't wait for the next visit......thank you Natalie!

What a great time we had at Camelot House and Lodge celebrating our wonderful colleagues at our first annual staff awards day, with 76 people receiving awards! 🏆

Our long service awards included 12 of our team who have worked at Camelot House and Lodge for over ten years, with Ann and Barry celebrating over 15 years each. Thank you to everyone in the Camelot family! 😍

We had a wonderful afternoon celebrating India Day! At Chestnut Lodge residents had a great time singing and experiencing as much as they could about the beautiful country of India😍🌼
Some of our amazing staff came in on their day off to make sure residents had a wonderful time. They prepared traditional food and dressed in authentic Indian clothing. We are so lucky to have people who genuinely care about their residents❤️❤️

Chestnut Lodge has been awarded the Quality Hallmark Award for the Gold Standards Framework (GSF) accreditation 🏆🥳😀
Major congrats to you all! It's a huge achievement that highlights the high standards of person-centred care given by our team to residents at end of life.
An enormous amount of time and dedication is needed for the award of the GSF Quality Hallmark, and we really appreciate how hard they’ve all worked for this.
Importantly, the award provides valuable reassurance for those families who entrust the team at Chestnut Lodge with the care of their loved ones that consistently excellent care will be provided right up to the end.

Such great news, and so well deserved! 🥰

A visit from Holsworthy Museum’s Outreach Team brought the past to life for the ladies and gents who live with us at Deer Park, especially resident Susan Ivey – then Susan Dymond - who was Holsworthy’s 129th Pretty Maid in 1970 when she was just 18 years old.

Susan had a great time reminiscing about her time as the Pretty Maid and about her family. And resident Raymond Prouse shared stories of his time as manager of Safeway and of the Coop in Holsworthy, and loved wearing the bowler hat the team had brought in.

Huge thanks to Pauline Underwood for such an engaging event and rekindling such lovely memories.

So happy to receive this feedback from Kirsty L: "Dad moved to Deer Park in March following a short period of respite there. He has settled really well. The staff have all been very friendly and welcoming both to him and to us when we visit. They seem to really know the residents.
"Dad has received excellent care and really eats well - a great indication considering his appetite had been waning when he was at home. It is a lovely environment - Dad particularly likes the conservatory! Activities appear to be great.
"Shortly after Dad's arrival it was his 80th birthday. We had a small family party in one of the rooms at Deer Park and were provided with lovely food and a fantastic cake!
"Dad has a lovely, large, light room and seems to enjoy spending time there."

Yippee! 🥳Our vision garden tearoom is a step closer to being realised thanks to an impressive £800 profit from last weekend’s summer fair. Profits will go towards landscaping the lower part of our garden to make it more accessible - all part of our exciting plan to build a tearoom there with funds kindly donated by a resident’s relative.

The success of the fair owes a huge amount to our extended Butterfly Lodge family, and an enormous thank-you goes to everyone who helped make the event such a huge success: colleagues, family members and friends of our residents, and to everyone who attended! 🙏🥰

So delighted that Butterfly Lodge has been nominated for the Dementia Care Award at the South West Care Awards for "excellence in supporting individuals living with dementia through compassionate, innovative, and person-centred approaches." 🥳

Fingers crossed for 16 October when the winners are announced! 🤞
