💜 A brilliant first day for our new Greenlands Meadow team! 💚

Yesterday marked another exciting milestone for Greenlands Meadow, as almost all of our new team members came together for the first day of their induction!

Alongside learning more about Amica Care, our values and what it means to be part of the Greenlands Meadow team, we also put their teamwork to the test with a slightly different challenge…

🍝 Who could build the tallest tower using only spaghetti and marshmallows?

There was plenty of creativity, problem-solving, laughter and some healthy competition along the way!

🏆 A huge congratulations to our winning team, The Care Collectors, who took the top spot with their impressive creation!

It was fantastic to see everyone working together, getting to know their new colleagues and, most importantly, having some fun. Over the coming weeks, our team will continue their training and induction as we prepare to welcome our first residents to Greenlands Meadow.

We’re so excited to see our new team coming together and to watch Greenlands Meadow come to life. 💜💚

💜 MEET THE TEAM MONDAY – MEET RHONA! 💜

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on Rhona, our Home Administrator, who joined the Greenlands Meadow team two weeks ago!

Rhona brings with her an incredible 30 years of experience in the care sector, beginning her career as a Care Assistant before progressing into management and spending 20 years as a Registered Manager in domiciliary care.

After moving to Somerset, Rhona wanted a role that would bring her closer to the people at the heart of care. As our Home Administrator, she gets the best of both worlds – helping to keep Greenlands Meadow running smoothly while also spending time with our residents, families and visitors.

Rhona is proud to be part of the team at such an exciting time and is looking forward to welcoming our first residents and watching Greenlands Meadow grow into a wonderful home and community. 💜

🌟 MEET THE TEAM MONDAY! 🌟

This Monday, we’re delighted to introduce you to Chinju, our Deputy Manager at Greenlands Meadow! 💚

Chinju is a qualified nurse with more than five years’ experience in the care home sector and has held a number of leadership roles, including Deputy Manager and Clinical Nurse Manager. She is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and supporting residents to live with dignity, choice, independence and respect.

She is currently completing her Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management, continuing to develop her leadership skills and knowledge.

We’re incredibly excited to have Chinju join the Greenlands Meadow team as we prepare to welcome our first residents. She will play a key role in helping us build a positive culture and create a home where residents, families and colleagues feel valued, supported and truly at home. 🏡💚

🥂🫖 What an Afternoon! 🫖🥂

What a wonderful afternoon we’ve had at Greenlands Meadow Care Home as we celebrated National Prosecco Day with our High Tea! 🍰🥂🌸

It was a fantastic success, with delicious treats, plenty of conversation and lots of smiles all around. It was especially lovely to welcome our future residents and their families, as well as some of our new team members who are waiting to start with us. 💚

It was wonderful seeing everyone coming together, getting to know one another and enjoying the beautiful surroundings of Greenlands Meadow ahead of our opening.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the afternoon so special. We’re already looking forward to welcoming you all back very soon! 🥂✨

💚 Supporting Local People into Employment 💚

Today, our Commissioning Manager, Callum, had the pleasure of visiting the Taunton Jobcentre to support the fantastic Job Coaches as they helped local people prepare for employment.

Callum carried out mock interviews with customers who wanted to build their confidence, practise their interview skills, and receive constructive feedback ahead of applying for roles.

It was fantastic to meet so many enthusiastic individuals, and some candidates impressed Callum so much that they have now been invited to interview for positions here at Greenlands Meadow Care Home! 🌿

Today, Callum and Laura, our HR Administrator from the Amica Care Support Office, had the pleasure of attending the Taunton Careers Information Day.

It was a fantastic opportunity to network with local organisations, build new relationships with community services and providers, and share the exciting news about the upcoming opening of Greenlands Meadow Care Home.

It was also wonderful to see the wide range of services available across Taunton. Making these connections will help us provide the very best support for our residents, as well as enable us to signpost families to local organisations and services that may be able to help them.

A huge thank you to Somerset Carers for having us and for organising such a welcoming and worthwhile event. It was great to meet so many passionate people who are making a difference in our local community.

🌿 What a brilliant day at the Civic Square Opening! 🌿

On Saturday, Callum and Colette attended the official opening of Civic Square, and it was fantastic to see so many people come along to celebrate. It was great to meet local residents, families and businesses and be part of such a successful community event.

There was plenty going on throughout the day, including delicious ice creams, refreshing drinks from Maltons Drinks Company, and some amazing performances from the MAD Community CIC dance group.

As Greenlands Meadow is located right on the doorstep of Civic Square, we were proud to be there representing Greenlands Meadow. The children loved having their faces painted, our lucky dip proved very popular, and our cupcakes disappeared quickly! It was also a great opportunity to chat with people about our new nursing home and answer any questions about the care and support we'll be providing.

Having Civic Square just outside Greenlands Meadow is a real benefit for our future residents. With community events, entertainment and seasonal activities taking place throughout the year, residents will have even more opportunities to stay connected and enjoy everything the local community has to offer.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello—we really enjoyed meeting you all and look forward to seeing you again soon.
