Dealing with the effects of light on vision on a daily basis did little to prepare us for how extraordinary and humbling it was to be lucky enough to witness totality. Sat on a quiet Spanish hillside surrounded by family was a wonderful and memorable experience.

Ed and I are doing some reconnaissance work today to work out the best viewing spot. The sun will be only 8-9degrees above the horizon at totality here in Cantabria in Northern Spain at 8.28pm so making sure we can see the sun at that time.
