🎉 A very Happy 100th Birthday to Maud! 🎂

Last week, we had the joy of celebrating Maud's incredible milestone birthday at Moorhaven, surrounded by her loving family and friends. 🎈 Maud was absolutely delighted with her crown from her family and cherished the card she received from the King! 👑

She was showered with beautiful bouquets and wonderful gifts from everyone around her. What a special day it was! 🌸💖

🎉✨ Happy 103rd Birthday, Joyce! ✨🎉

On Thursday 16th July, everyone at Moorhaven had the absolute pleasure of celebrating Joyce's incredible 103rd birthday! 🥳💐

We marked this very special milestone with a wonderful party, where Joyce enjoyed a lovely lunch surrounded by her friends and our team. The celebrations were made even more memorable when we surprised her with a beautifully framed photograph of her and her husband on their wedding day. Seeing Joyce's face light up as she reminisced about the happy memories they shared was truly heartwarming. ❤️

Joyce was also delighted to receive a stunning bouquet of flowers, thoughtful gifts, a slice of delicious homemade birthday cake, and, of course, a glass of bubbly to toast this remarkable occasion. 🥂🎂

It was a joy to celebrate such an inspiring lady and create more special memories together. Happy 103rd Birthday, Joyce! Wishing you continued happiness, love, and many more smiles. 💖

Our residents thoroughly enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of bingo, with resident Keith taking on the role of caller and keeping everyone entertained with plenty of "eyes down!" There was lots of excitement as chocolates, sweets and decorative prizes were won, making it another wonderful social afternoon enjoyed by all. 🍫🎁

To round off the final week of Wimbledon, we celebrated in true tennis style with fizz, strawberries and cream. 🍓🥂 Residents also had great fun posing with our homemade Wimbledon photo frame, capturing lots of smiles and creating some wonderful memories together.

Days like these are what Moorhaven is all about—bringing people together, sharing laughter and making every moment special. 💚

What a wonderful week celebrating the power of community and connection at Moorhaven! 🌸💚

We recently welcomed Holway School for their final visit as part of the Archie Project, marking the end of a truly special journey together. Huge congratulations to the pupils and their teacher, Miss Ellis, for achieving 3rd place in the Children's Parliamentary Speech Competition with a heartfelt speech about the lasting bond between Holway School and Moorhaven.

Our garden party brought together pupils, residents and families for an afternoon filled with laughter, stories and memories that will be treasured for years to come.

One particularly touching moment saw the pupils surprise Maud, who turns 100 soon, with a homemade birthday cake they baked alongside our chef, Rita. Maud has long enjoyed visiting Holway School for lunch, sharing stories of her time in the Land Army and how life has changed over the years. She was absolutely delighted by the surprise, while her daughter-in-law, Elaine, kindly handcrafted Archie bookmarks for the pupils as a thank you for everything they've done.

We were also delighted to welcome Annika from Bishop Fox's School for her work experience week. She threw herself into every activity, from parties, skittles and Pomacise to games and spending quality time chatting with our residents. Thank you, Annika, for your kindness, patience and enthusiasm. We wish you every success and hope to see you again soon!

These moments remind us just how special it is when generations come together to learn, laugh and create lasting friendships. ❤️

Last week marked the final visit from the wonderful King's College Taunton students here at Moorhaven. 💙

To celebrate the end of a fantastic year together, we held a special party featuring the lovely singer Jay Hobday - Vocalist, who entertained everyone with a fantastic selection of rock 'n' roll classics. Before long, residents, students, and staff were singing along, dancing, and enjoying every moment. It was a truly joyful afternoon that everyone thoroughly enjoyed! 🎶🕺💃

We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all of the students for their hard work, kindness, and dedication since joining us last September. They have built such meaningful friendships with our residents, who have always looked forward to their weekly visits and chats. The positive impact they have made has been truly appreciated.

A special thank you also goes to their teacher, Alison, whose support and commitment helped make this wonderful partnership possible.

We wish each and every one of the students all the very best for the future. You'll always be welcome at Moorhaven! ❤️

Not sure if you've noticed, but this week has been HOT 🥵

To keep our residents cool and refreshed, we've been regularly rolling out the hydration trolley with a variety of drinks to discover everyone's favourites! 🥤✨ Fizzy lemon, fizzy orange, and cola topped the list, along with still lemon and lime-flavored water. We even added lime or orange slices and ice to make them extra refreshing! 🍋🧊

We also introduced a trolley of iced tea with cooling cucumber and lemon, plus some mocktails to cap off the week. These treats have been a huge hit at Moorhaven and will continue throughout the summer to ensure everyone stays cool and hydrated! 🌞💦

We were joined by Caryl Joy for a fantastic singalong, treating everyone to a selection of songs from the 1950s through to the 1980s. Her beautiful voice had everyone singing along, reminiscing and sharing special memories 🎶✨

It was especially lovely to see Janet enjoying the afternoon with her granddaughter and great-grandchildren - a truly special moment for all 🥰

After a well-earned cup of tea and some biscuits, the fun continued with games of floor darts and a lively Pomacise session. Safe to say, everyone had a brilliant day... and slept very well afterwards! 😄
