Here at Halcon Centre - Somerset Care , we’ve been busy hitting the coast and soaking up the sun at Burnham-on-Sea! 🌊✨ We enjoyed some shopping and indulged in delicious fish and chips by the sea, all while keeping an eye out for our feathered friend, the seagull! 🐦 And of course, we couldn’t resist treating ourselves to some ice cream! 🍦

🤠🎶 Halcon Hoe Down – A Rootin’ Tootin’ BBQ Celebration! 🎶🤠

We had an amazing time at Halcon’s annual BBQ, and this year we brought a little bit of the Wild West to life with our very own “Halcon Hoe Down!” 🌵✨

Our residents and staff had so much fun getting involved in the cowboy theme. Over several weeks, our creative residents painted cardboard characters featuring staff and resident faces, which were then turned into a fun shooting range! Everyone enjoyed taking aim, hitting the targets, and sharing lots of laughter along the way. 🎯🤠

We also enjoyed an international food tasting tent, offering delicious flavours from around the world, while the BBQ was sizzling away serving up a fantastic feast for everyone to enjoy. 🍔🌭

A huge highlight of the day was the fabulous cake created by our chef, Tibbs — a true showstopper and a delicious addition to the celebrations! 🎂👏

Throughout the day, we were entertained by a fantastic live band who played lots of requests and kept everyone singing, smiling, and enjoying the atmosphere.

It was a wonderful day filled with fun, friendship, laughter, and memories that will be treasured. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make our Halcon Hoe Down such a success! 💙

🎙️✨ Dreams really do come true! ✨🎶

Our respite resident, Paul, recently achieved a dream he had always hoped for—to appear on a local radio show!

Paul is an incredibly gifted young man with an amazing knowledge of music. He has a real passion for naming songs and artists, and his love for music shines through every conversation.

Bright and early at 6:45am, Paul, accompanied by our Activities Coordinator, Ranie, headed to 10Radio for an unforgettable experience. Ranie captured lots of special photos for Paul to take home as a lasting reminder of his fantastic day.

Paul said he had an amazing time, and most importantly, his dream came true! Seeing the joy on his face and helping make these special moments happen is what it's all about.

A huge thank you to everyone at 10Radio for giving Paul such a warm welcome and making this incredible experience possible. You helped create memories that will last a lifetime! ❤️

🎸🤘 Dreams really do come true! 🤘🎸

One of our residents, Ken, had one very special wish—to see his favourite band, Guns N' Roses , perform at Donington Park in Derbyshire.

Thanks to the dedication and kindness of our amazing team at Halcon, that wish became a reality! Ken had an absolutely incredible time, soaking up the atmosphere, singing along to his favourite songs, and truly rocking and rolling the day away. 🎶❤️

Seeing the smile on Ken's face and helping him create such unforgettable memories is exactly what it's all about. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this amazing experience possible!

We had an amazing time celebrating our fantastic colleagues at the recent 2026 Somerset Care Awards.

Big congratulations to our incredible team members:

🍎🧀 Somerset Day Celebrations 🧀🍎

What a fantastic day we had celebrating Somerset Day! Residents enjoyed tasting ten different cheeses paired with local ciders, crackers, and delicious clotted cream scones. 🥂🍓

The wellie throwing contest brought plenty of competitive spirit and laughter, followed by a fun Somerset-themed quiz that everyone thoroughly enjoyed! 👢🎯

A wonderful day full of fun, smiles, and great company had by all. 💜

🎉 VE Celebrations 🎉

Today we came together to mark VE celebrations in true community spirit, enjoying a wonderful day filled with food, fun, and shared memories. ❤️

A traditional homemade feast of fish and chips with mushy peas was enjoyed, followed by a beautifully baked Victoria sponge cake made with care by our residents. 🍰

The afternoon continued with a lively quiz that sparked plenty of laughter and friendly competition, before everyone joined in for karaoke, singing along to much-loved old songs that brought back special memories and plenty of smiles. 🎤✨

It was a heartwarming day of togetherness, reflection, and celebration. Honouring the past while enjoying the present in great company. 🤩
