This week is Dementia Action Week, led by the Alzheimer’s Society. It is an important national campaign dedicated to raising awareness of dementia, challenging stigma, and highlighting the vital importance of early diagnosis.
At Kensey care, we are proud to support many individuals and families in our local community who are living with dementia. Every day, we see first-hand the dedication, compassion, and resilience shown by families caring for their loved ones. We are continually humbled by the strength and love that surrounds so many of the people we support.
Breaking down the stigma associated with dementia remains central to our work, both professionally and personally. Many of us at Kensey care have had family members affected by dementia, and we deeply understand the challenges faced by both those living with the condition and those caring for them. It is a subject very close to our hearts.
Early diagnosis can make a significant difference, helping individuals access the right support, information, and care at the earliest possible stage. Throughout Dementia Action Week, we encourage everyone to learn more, start conversations, and help create a more understanding and supportive society.

🌟 Staff Spotlight – Maddie 🌟

Maddie is 27 and a very proud mum to her little girl, who is her absolute world. She has worked in care on and off for the past eight years, building valuable experience and a genuine passion for supporting others.

Originally qualifying as a dog groomer, Maddie’s love of animals has always been a big part of who she is. Outside of work, she describes herself as a bit of a petrol head, with a love for fast cars and anything with speed — although she’s equally at home in a pair of heels! When it comes to music, rave and heavy bass will always win over any other genre.

Above all, Maddie is passionate about delivering supportive, person-centred care and making a positive difference in people’s lives every single day. We’re proud to have her as part of our team.
