An update on our Medpoint machine. Unfortunately the engineer that visited this morning has broken the machine further. We are now in a waiting game as to when the part will arrive for the engineer to come back and fit the broken parts and fix the rest. Apologies again for the inconvenience.

Apologies again, but our Medpoint machine will be out of action until Tuesday. We have contacted the company and they have confirmed that there appears to be an issue with the scanner witching the machine, which is causing it to reboot and attempt scanning every prescription inside every 10-15mins preventing anyone from using it. We have confirmation from them that an engineer will be in attendance for this on Tuesday. Anyone who uses the machine will need to come into the pharmacy to collect their prescriptions. Apologies again for the inconvenience caused. As soon as the machine is back up and running I will update our page and all users will receive a text message with a collection code.

Apologies, but our Medpoint collection machine has had to be turned off again due to the heat. Following some of the “advice” offered during the last heatwave, when we also had to turn the machine off, I would like to take this opportunity to explain why this is necessary. The machine itself is constructed almost entirely from metal, which heats up and retains heat. Below is a photo of the inside of the machine for you all to see. There is a small fan that runs while the machine is switched on, but unfortunately, it is simply not powerful enough to cope with the temperatures we are currently experiencing. We also have an extractor fan running continuously to try to reduce the temperature in the room where the rear of the machine is positioned. Regarding the comments about air conditioning, we simply cannot have an air-conditioning unit in the small room where the machine is located. Unfortunately, it really is that simple. The machine is simply not designed to withstand the temperatures we have been experiencing this summer. We have already had to have the screen monitor replaced once this summer due to heat damage. We appreciate that having the machine switched off is inconvenient, but unfortunately, during periods of extreme heat this is necessary not only to protect the machine from further damage, but also to protect the integrity of the medication stored inside. The temperature inside the machine is currently 28.5°C, which is above the appropriate storage temperature for many medicines. We therefore cannot continue to store medication in the machine at this temperature and risk compromising its quality and stability. Patient safety must remain our priority. Thank you for understanding Louise

To everyone asking we do not sell the eclipse viewing glasses. We advise everyone to not look at the sun directly during the eclipse. We suggest following the below link for safe ways to view the eclipse -

We’re sorry to report but our medpoint machine will be out of use until Friday. Unfortunately, the screen has decided to die on us rendering the machine out of action. We have a new screen on order and an engineer booked for Friday. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. Customers who use the machine will still receive a text message but will be required to collect from within the pharmacy.

25/06/2026

Good afternoon, as of now our Medpoint collection will be back up and running. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee this will be continuous all day. We will be monitoring the temperature inside the machine to protect the integrity and safety of all medication. We sincerely apologies for any inconvenience this outage may have caused. But patient and drug safety is our top priority during this weather. Thank you for your patience.

23/06/2026

A very warm good morning to everyone. Unfortunately we have to turn off our Medpoint machine now as the temperature inside is too high for the medication. It will most likely remain off until Friday with the high temperatures forecast. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Anyone with a collection code can collect their prescription from within the pharmacy. We thank everyone for their patience during this.
