Yesterday, Carly and Clare had the pleasure of joining the very first Carers Café at The Woolwell Centre in Plymouth. 💚

They spent a lovely afternoon over a cuppa, chatting about life in Plymouth, tackling a few crosswords, and answering questions about home care to help family carers navigate the care journey for their loved ones. One attendee also shared fascinating stories from the history of Devonport, bringing them to life with old photographs and maps from a book they had written!

A huge thank you to everyone for being so welcoming and supportive, and especially to Laura Quigley for organising such a wonderful afternoon. We can't wait for the Carers Café to return as a regular event in September after its short summer break!

We’re looking for two kind Live-in Care Professionals with care experience to support a lovely lady and man in Plymouth to continue living comfortably and happily in their own home.

This is a rewarding role working as part of a small team, ideal for someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships, offering not just practical help, but companionship, reassurance and a friendly presence each day.

With Home Instead Tavistock and Tamar Valley, you’ll be supported 24/7 by an Outstanding-rated office and on-call team that values compassionate, person-centred care.

What you’ll bring:
• Experience in care (home, community, or residential)
• A warm, patient approach and genuine desire to make a difference
• Confidence supporting with dementia and palliative care
• Strong communication and ability to work independently
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car

How you’ll help:
• Personal care and daily support including use of equipment
• Medication support and meal preparation
• Encouraging independence and safe mobility
• Keeping their home comfortable and safe
• Most importantly — companionship and emotional support
Rota: Flexible and negotiable (e.g. 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off)
