More people across Devon deserve access to specialist dementia support.

That’s why we’re continuing to expand across Devon.

This September, The Ness Care Group is launching new 10-week Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) courses in:

πŸ“ Exeter (Millbrook)
πŸ“ Sidmouth
πŸ“ Tiverton

Our Memory Hubs already support people and families across Devon and these new courses will make specialist, clinically led CST available to even more communities.

CST is recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) for people living with mild to moderate dementia. It uses structured, enjoyable activities to support memory, communication, attention, thinking skills and confidence.

At The Ness, every activity is chosen for a therapeutic reason. Behind each session is specialist knowledge of dementia, memory and brain function, so support remains enjoyable, purposeful and evidence-based.

And we’re not stopping there. Seaton and Torbay are next, with new courses planned for winter 2026.

If you have noticed memory changes, are living with Mild Cognitive Impairment or have a diagnosis of mild to moderate dementia, we would be happy to tell you more.

🧠 Brain Fact

Can people with dementia still learn?

The short answer is...

Yes.

It may not happen in the same way as before, but the brain doesn't simply stop learning after a dementia diagnosis.

People can still develop new routines, enjoy new experiences, build friendships and take part in activities that stimulate different areas of the brain.

That's why meaningful mental stimulation and social connection remain so important.

It's also why Cognitive Stimulation Therapy is recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) for people living with mild to moderate dementia.

At The Ness, every activity is chosen for a therapeutic reason, helping to support memory, communication, attention, planning and confidence in a friendly, welcoming environment.

Members and the team at our Teignmouth Hub have been working together on this amazing sculpture, which is now on display on Teignmouth seafront.

Around the base are the words:

β€œHolding dementia in the open, held by community.”

A lot of thought, time and teamwork went into creating it. A brilliant job by all. 😊

Have you noticed changes in your memory, or are you worried about someone close to you?

The Ness Care Group already supports people and families across Devon through our Memory Hubs and Cognitive Stimulation Therapy programmes.

This September, we are extending that support with 10-week Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) courses in Exeter, Sidmouth and Tiverton, with further courses planned for Seaton and Torbay in winter 2026.

CST is recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence for people living with mild to moderate dementia. It uses structured activities and discussion to support memory, communication, attention, thinking skills and confidence.

At The Ness, every activity is chosen for a therapeutic reason. Our courses draw on specialist knowledge of dementia, memory and brain function, with activities selected to engage different cognitive skills. Progress is reviewed throughout so support can be adapted as needs change.

The courses are suitable for people experiencing memory changes, Mild Cognitive Impairment or mild to moderate dementia.
