Weather overcast and humid for our 9 Teignmouth Walk This Way walkers this morning

As planned we caught the bus to Cofton Motors then set off down the nearby lane -a walk we've not done for about 3 years

We soon headed off uphill along a green lane, eventually reached the top ,crossed the farm access lane and started along the next part of the green lane - at this part of the walk there were several swallows swooping low for insects close by

This green lane went on uphill and then back down, on reaching a stone farm track we followed the pedestrian signs walked on passing a property then came to a tarmac lane - another 10 /15 mins and we arrived at the Mamhead Rd junction

Option of walking the busy Mamhead Rd without pavement to Cockwood was sensibly declined !

By this time there was some light drizzle not enough for brollies in fact some of us weren't even wearing jackets

So we walked on up and down the lanes and road to Kenton - 2 walkers walked on to Powderham for refreshments.7 of us went to bus stop we were only there less than 5 mins when luckily for us a late bus arrived so we were back in Teignmouth for 1pm !

NB Walk was long and hilly but not over strenuous took us around 90 mins and was approx 3.5 miles

REMINDER next Weds Sept 9th circular walk to Salty Dog Cafe .Meet up near pier around 10am ,we start walk 10.15am - we're walking a level local walk along the seawall by the railway line to our mid walk refreshment stop at the cafe at the bottom of Smugglers Lane Holcombe

Dry,sunny humid weather for our 10 Teignmouth Walk this Way walkers this morning

Planned and researched walk led by Ann L took us on bus to Dawlish then on up the hilly Eastcliff Rd ,along footpath and on up field to Seven Sisters with it's great scenic views where we enjoyed a lovely longer than usual rest on the benches πŸ‘

Ann led us down the next field we then took a different footpath route than usual - always interesting to go somewhere differentπŸ‘

At the end of the path we joined the lane we usually walk down then turned left onto a new extremely steep road - painful for our knees and hips however we all survived the experience 😁

Back near the town centre we walked on via the Manor House gardens,on along by the stream and past the bowling green - we then split up and went to 2 different cafes for our refreshments

NB Please do remember our volunteer walk leaders plan and research our weekly walks - IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE for walkers to try change the walk routes - walkers are informed of planned route in advance so you have the choice whether to come along or not each week .

REMINDER next Weds Sept 2nd is a longer walk out into the countryside so please make sure you come prepared with water and snacks.

We'll meet up by the pier by 10am then from Teignmouth PO we're catching the 10.21am Exeter bus to Cofton Motors - the walk eventually leads us to Kenton from there either bus home or walk uphill to Powderham for refreshments

NB new Stagecoach bus timetables begin Aug 30th
From Teignmouth Post Office bus stop Exeter buses leave at 10.21am ,Newton Abbot buses leave at 10.01am and Torquay buses leave at 10.26am

10 of our regular Teignmouth Walk this Way walkers enjoyed another lovely mostly level walk this morning

As planned we caught the bus to Newton Abbot - just as we reached the bus station there was a brief heavy downpour so we had to take shelter for 5 minutes

Thankfully the rain cleared and we set off towards Asda then took the off road path to Bakers Park .From there we walked on path taking us past NT Bradley Manor and onwards leading us on alongside the River Lemon in Bradley Woods - not a circular walk so on reaching the gate at the end of the woods we returned via same route !

Back at Bakers Park we headed for the park cafe and toilets 7 stayed for refreshments at cafe before heading for bus home

Hot,sunny weather for our weekly walk this morning with 8 Teignmouth WTW walkers

Thankfully the bus driver allowed us to get off the bus by Labrador Bay car park πŸ‘

After walking carefully back along the coast road for about a 100 metres we walked up the steep lane to the beacon ie trig point

From there we carried on along and down Butterfly Lane - lots of juicy hedgerow blackberries near the beacon plus we saw a few butterflies and a beautiful dragonfly

Lovely walk though long downhill path and lane somewhat painful for those of us with arthritic knees and hipsπŸ˜“πŸ˜“πŸ˜“

Hot and sunny weather again for our 10 Teignmouth WTW walkers this morning on our Dawlish Country Park circuit led by Ann L.

As planned we caught the 10.29am bus to Dawlish Warren then walked via Millen Way to Shutterton Lane where we entered DCP.

Not sure Ann intended us climbing to the top of the Park in the heat -after a vote we climbed on slowly resting a couple of times in the shade -once we'd made it to the top we walked on to enjoy a rest on the shady seat with the fantastic views across the countryside ..

We then walked on downhill followed by another short rest on the seating near the car park before walking on to leave DCP at the other exit onto Shutterton Lane .

Thankfully the lane was in shade so enjoyable to walk along - we walked on via Millen Way and on to Dawlish Warren .

After a brief refreshment stop at the bakery we headed for the nearby bus stop and were back in Teignmouth just after 1.30pm

REMINDER next week's local walk will be led by Ann P .Meet up by pier around 10am ready to start walk at 10.15am .Walk will be along seafront then up over railway bridge near Lido ,on uphill via Easrcliff and Mules Park to Cliff Rd .
On along Love Lane to Dawlish Rd then down Holcombe Lane behind the Minidab - from there via Holcombe to end of walk refreshment stop at the Smugglers Inn ,afterwards either walk or bus home πŸ‘
