The Great Coffee Taste Test

Costa or Starbucks? That was the big question as residents at Roden Hall headed out in search of the best coffee in town!

New resident Barry has always been a Costa fan, but Home Manager Chelsie was determined to see if Starbucks could change his mind. While Barry enjoyed trying both, Pam was sticking firmly with Costa, saying she preferred a less strong coffee.

This visit was a lovely chance to enjoy a change of scenery, great company and a sense of normality. Barry and Pam thanked the team for a lovely trip out, proving that sometimes it's the simple moments that mean the most.

Getting Ready for International Friendship Day

Ahead of International Friendship Day, our residents at Roden Hall enjoyed creating handmade cards to send to our friends at Dorset House.

Filled with kind words, thoughtful designs and personal messages, each card was made to bring a smile to someone's face. It was a lovely way to bring our homes together and celebrate the friendships that make our Rotherwood community so special.

A special mention to Elaine, who chose a panda design because, as she says, "Everybody likes pandas!" 🐼

We're taking on the Great Rotherwood Row-Off!

On Monday 10th August, our team will go head-to-head with Colwall Care Home, Malvern in a 10km sponsored rowing challenge, raising money for our chosen charity, Hope House & Tŷ Gobaith.

Roden Hall's Cinema is a Firm Favourite!

Residents recently enjoyed another wonderful afternoon in our cinema, settling down to watch the 1956 John Wayne classic The Searchers.

With popcorn, crisps, chocolate and refreshments in hand, everyone was ready for a trip to the Wild West. Bert summed it up perfectly, saying, "I do love a good western," while Olive declared it was "much better than the big tele!"

Our cinema continues to be a much-loved space where residents can relax, reminisce and enjoy classic films together in great company.

A Tropical Celebration at Roden Hall

Residents, families, friends and members of the local community came together for an afternoon of music, dancing, games and tropical fun, with more than 100 people joining us to support our residents' chosen charity, Hope House & Tŷ Gobaith, and the incredible work they do for local children and families.

From meeting amazing animals to browsing our craft stalls and trying their luck on the raffle and tombola, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The day was filled with smiles, laughter and wonderful moments shared across the home.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, donated prizes and helped make the event such a success. Together, we created lasting memories while raising money for a truly fantastic cause.

A Huge Team Effort at Roden Hall

Residents and team members came together to give our gardens a well-deserved refresh ahead of this weekend's Summer Fayre.

From weeding and trimming to planting colourful new flowers, everyone played their part, with our residents helping to decide where everything should go. The gardens are now looking brighter, tidier and ready to be enjoyed by all.

Bee creative, bee kind!

Residents at Roden Hall enjoyed getting creative as they designed their own beautiful bee cups, creating colourful decorations for thirsty bees during the warmer weather.

There were plenty of laughs as everyone put their own unique spin on their designs, with newcomer Hazel enjoying her first craft session and Receptionist Nathan even joining in the fun to create his own bee cup.

The finished creations were a real hit, with residents already asking what wildlife-inspired craft they'll make next!

Game on!

There was plenty of friendly competition at Roden Hall as residents came together for another exciting game of Boccia.

Joan was delighted to score her first point, while newcomer Geoff quickly embraced the competitive spirit. Congratulations to the blue team, who claimed a 2-1 victory after a morning full of laughs, teamwork and determination.

Music, memories and meaningful moments.

Residents at Roden Hall enjoyed a lovely afternoon at our Kiddleydivey Shropshire, Mid Wales & Wolverhampton - Adults session, where music brought back cherished memories and everyone enjoyed singing along to familiar favourites.

One particularly touching moment came when Bobby's Girl was played, bringing back special memories of Ann's husband, Bob, and a few happy tears. It was wonderful to welcome new resident Maureen and her friend Val, while songs like My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean had everyone singing along.

A big thank you to Eve for another fantastic session.for another fantastic session, creating a relaxed afternoon full of friendship and smiles.
