Does your organisation want to join VALOUR?

Funding is available for organisations to deliver in-person advice for veterans on health, housing, employment, wellbeing and more.

We're holding an online info session at 10.30am on Thursday 28 May, all about how to apply for grants of up to £1m to join the new network of VALOUR-recognised centres.

"What exactly does Stirchley and Brookside Parish Council do?" "Where does my council tax go?"

Our Annual Parish Meeting takes place next Tuesday, 26th May at 6:30pm. This will give residents and attendees an insight into what we do as a Parish council and where council tax monies are allocated.

🎟️ Can You Help Us Boost Our Veterans BBQ Raffle & Tombola? 🎟️

Our Annual Veterans BBQ is locked in for Saturday, 4th July, and we are on a mission to make it our biggest fundraiser yet! To do that, we need a little help from our amazing community.

We are looking for donations of Raffle Prizes and Tombola Prizes.

Every single penny raised from the raffle goes directly into funding vital peer-led well-being support, boxing sessions, and "Safe Harbour" community spaces for our local Shropshire veterans and their families.

What we are looking for:
🎁 Unwanted gift sets, bottles, or chocolates
🎫 Vouchers from local businesses (haircuts, meals, car valets, etc.)
🛠️ New tools, gadgets, or hampers
🧸 Unopened toys or games for the kids' tombola

If you or a local business can donate something—big or small—it will make a massive difference.

📍 Where to drop off: Pop into the Hub at Brookside Central, or drop us a private message right here, and we can arrange a collection!

Honouring a Legacy: Supporting Our Own 🇬🇧

We would like to extend a huge and heartfelt thank-you to the family of Eddie Mansfield. They have incredibly kindly donated Eddie's veteran clothing to the Hub, with the wish that it be passed on to fellow veterans who can put it to good use.

At Ex-Forces to Community’s CIC, we know that the bond between veterans never breaks. Seeing Eddie’s kit come through our doors to help the next person is exactly what "The Tribe" is all about.

Today we hosted a small group of veterans and community members this morning, a lovely cooked breakfast delivered to the hub and unlimited tea and biscuits, with all the conversation we could cram into 3 hours.

All backgrounds welcome, conversations and drinks are free, if ever anyone need us, pop in, say hello.
