Itās Monday againā¦..
This mornings motivation is something that
Was the reason I started this journey into mental health and especially for young people
September is su***de prevention monthā¦.
If you have been touched by this at any point whether thatās a relative, friend, colleague or devastatingly a child, you will know itās something that never leaves you.
It can change your life, your views and your outlook on life. Giving new perspective and a passion to change how things are.
It made me want to change how mental health was seen for young people. To change the fact that they may feel they have no-one to talk to, no-one who understands them, or even tries.
We all know there are numbers to call and referrals that can be made but sadly these systems are way over stretched and understanding and accessibility for young people are sadly lacking.
If I only help one young person who feels that there is no other way out, to take a breath, share and believe there is reason to continue. That will be worth it.
I aim to try and catch them way earlier than this. But if notā¦.
My gate is always open.
I will make time. Put on the kettle. Sit by your side. Hold space while you share. Because I donāt want anyone to feel that alone.
Especially a young person.
But equally to all of you.
Because we all have hard days, but sometimes we need to not feel so alone that there is no optionā¦.
Itās ok to need help & support
You are not a burden
You are not a disappointment
You are enoughā¦.. always
