This week has been a full one. ๐
After hurting my back last week, it has been so lovely to be back in the treatment room supporting my wonderful clients. Thankfully my back is feeling so much better now, especially after seeing my osteopath Katie Hogg on Wednesday who pinpointed the issue to my lumbar spine, with the surrounding muscles going into protective spasm.
Outside of work, life has been just as busy. Yesterday my youngest turned 8, & today we celebrated with a pool & pizza party with a few of his friends. It has been such a happy couple of days... but my feet are definitely reminding me how much time I've spent on them! ๐
So this evening I felt called to slow down and create a simple herbal foot bath using what I had around me. No recipe, no measuring - just instinct.
๐ผ Calendula to soothe tired, hardworking feet, support the skin & gently encourage restoration. Energetically, calendula is often associated with warmth, comfort and bringing light.
๐น Rose to soften & nourish both skin & spirit. Rose has such a beautiful affinity for the heart, inviting us to slow down, soften & receive a little kindness ourselves.
๐ Fresh lavender from the garden to ease tension & encourage deep relaxation. Its calming aroma helps quiet a busy mind whilst also offering gentle support to tired muscles.
๐ฟ Peppermint (via a humble tea bag as that's all I had!) to cool, refresh & revive aching feet. Peppermint is wonderfully uplifting too, helping to clear mental fatigue & bring a little renewed energy.
Now I'm simply sitting in the garden, listening to the birds, watching a squirrel enjoying hazelnuts in our hazel tree, & letting the herbs do what they do best.
Sometimes the most nourishing rituals are the simplest ones... created with whatever nature has already provided. โจ๐ฟ
