A lot of shoulder problems don’t actually start in the shoulder joint itself.
Tight upper traps, lats and pec minor can completely change the way your shoulder moves.
When these muscles become stiff and overactive, they can:
🔹Pull the shoulders forward
🔹Limit overhead movement
🔹Reduce shoulder mobility
🔹Create neck tension and headaches
🔹Cause pinching and discomfort
🔹Make the shoulder feel “stuck”
🔸Your pec minor sits deep at the front of the shoulder and can round the shoulders forward when tight.
Your lats affect overhead range of motion and 🔸shoulder positioning.
🔸Your traps — especially the upper traps — often become overloaded from stress, posture and training, leading to tension through the neck and shoulders.
If you only stretch the shoulder without addressing these areas, the problem usually keeps coming back.
This is why soft tissue work, sports massage, mobility work and improving tissue quality can make such a big difference.
Better movement = less tension, less restriction and healthier shoulders.
