Your brain has this incredible ability called neuroplasticity. It’s basically the brain’s way of saying, “I can change. I can grow. I can learn new things. I can get better at things. And I can stop doing things that no longer help me.”

And the best part?
It does this every single day, quietly, behind the scenes, without you needing to force it.

It can learn:
✨new ways of responding
✨new ways of calming
✨new ways of thinking
✨new ways of feeling
✨new ways of showing up in the world

And it can unlearn things too — especially patterns that were created during stressful or difficult times.

Your brain is not fixed.
It is not stuck.
It is not “just the way you are.”

It is changeable, trainable, and remarkably cooperative 💛

Today’s moment of calm is beautifully simple: a strong coffee and a jigsaw.
There’s something grounding about holding a warm mug, breathing in that familiar smell, and letting your mind settle into the gentle focus of finding where each piece belongs 💛

No rush. No pressure. Just steady, soothing attention that helps your nervous system breathe 💛
Sometimes self‑care is as small as choosing an activity that lets you slow down — and today, this is more than enough 💛

Just like plants, our thoughts grow where we give our attention, our time, and our energy.

When I pull out weeds, I’m not angry at them — I just know they’re not what I want to nurture. And it’s the same with unhelpful thoughts. We don’t have to fight them… we can simply notice them, acknowledge them, and gently choose to feed something different.

A tiny shift in attention can be like watering the flowers instead of the weeds

Physical Signs of Stress

Stress doesn’t just live in the mind — it shows up in the body too.
When the brain senses pressure or uncertainty, it can activate the body’s natural “alert” system, and that can create physical sensations that feel uncomfortable or confusing.

Some common physical signs of stress include:

Muscle tension — tight shoulders, jaw clenching, or a heavy feeling in the body

Headaches — often from long periods of tension or shallow breathing

Racing heart — the body preparing to respond to perceived pressure

Upset stomach — stress can temporarily disrupt digestion

Shallow breathing — the body trying to stay alert

Fatigue — stress uses a lot of energy, even when we’re sitting still

These signs aren’t “failures” — they’re simply signals from a nervous system trying to protect us.

Noticing them with curiosity rather than criticism can be a powerful first step.
It helps us recognise what’s happening in the body and gently choose supportive tools like slowing the breath, grounding through the senses, or taking a moment of pause.

We all experience stress. Understanding it helps us meet ourselves with more compassion 💛

Feeling stuck or overwhelmed can make even the simplest parts of life feel heavy. When the mind struggles to switch off, stress and anxiety can build until everything feels “too much.”
As a solution focused hypnotherapist, I work with people experiencing stress, anxiety, overwhelm, and the effects of trauma. I understand how exhausting it can feel when your nervous system is working overtime to keep you safe.
My aim is to offer a warm, supportive space where you can feel listened to, understood, and gently supported as you move towards positive change — always at a pace that feels right for you.
You don’t have to navigate difficult moments alone. Reaching out is a powerful first step toward feeling more grounded and steady.
If you’d like to explore what support could look like, Id love to hear from you.
I offer a free initial consultation, with no obligation.
