Cheese Wine and Jazz, is there a better combination?
This national wine and cheese day we celebrated in style with a classic slate of dairy based goodies, a fine selection of wines and smooth jazz standards with trumpeter and vocalist Matt. Residents commented it was like being 'in a London jazz club' and 'a treat for the ears and the stomach!'

We had such a magical time at Beacon for a concert of Mozart by the sublime Aurora Orchestra! Residents and staff alike were enraptured by beautiful music, played not only from memory, but also, eschewing a traditional stage, the orchestra stood and sat among the audience, creating a truly immersive one of a kind experience. A huge thank you to Bristol Care Homes for organising a concert that will live in our memories for many many years to come.

Thanks to everyone who came along and made this years Gracetonbury Festival one for the books! With weather forecasters threatening thunderstorms we a little nervous setting up for the day, but fortune smiled on us and it was a perfect day for some outdoor music, fun and games with friends and family. A particular highlight of the day were the performances by the young musicians of Thornbury Area Youth Music Group, who played such fantastic music despite their young age and had everyone up and dancing! A bouncy castle courtesy of our sister home Wellford Gardens, carnival games, children's ball pit, hook a duck and prize raffle and a huge barbecue buffet created by our newest chef Ashley were the icing on the cake of a perfect festival, we can't wait to do it again next year!
