Introducing our inspirational care assistant Zoe.

My book Between Heartbeats is deeply personal to me. It tells the story of resilience, love, fear, hope, and the realities of living with complex congenital heart conditions. Through my journey, I wanted to give a voice to the moments that often go unseen — the hospital stays, the uncertainty, the strength it takes to keep going, and the gratitude found in every heartbeat along the way.

For those who may not know, DiGeorge Syndrome (22q11.2 deletion syndrome) is a genetic condition that can affect many parts of the body, including the heart, immune system, and development. Many people born with DiGeorge Syndrome face lifelong medical challenges and surgeries.

Tetralogy of Fallot is a rare congenital heart defect made up of four different heart abnormalities that affect normal blood flow through the heart. It often requires open-heart surgery early in life and ongoing cardiac care throughout adulthood.

Writing Between Heartbeats was my way of sharing not only the medical journey, but also the emotional one — the strength behind survival, the people who stand beside us, and the reminder to never take a single heartbeat for granted. ❤️

Our residents had a wonderful and busy day yesterday at Tudor House Care Home! We were delighted to welcome Alfie for a special visit, and our residents thoroughly enjoyed a lovely performance from The Nightingales Choir.

My name is Nicola, and I am the Home Admin at Tudor House.
I have been with Tudor House for a few months now and have really enjoyed getting to know our residents and their families. It has been a pleasure to become part of such a welcoming home and supportive team.
I come from a background in the care sector and have previously worked within the NHS as both an Administrator and a Senior Healthcare Assistant in Operating Theatres.
I am passionate about working in care and value the opportunity to make a positive difference to someone’s day and overall wellbeing.
