The ground was to hard for many of the show jumpers so a tractor pull was hastily arranged instead. No shortage of young farmers . Tractors and more tractors, with everything from cardboard coffins to a mobile pianist, the wonderful hounds and lessons about bees. And was thrilling, as always.

Beautiful words from beloved Guruji.

“I am old, and death inevitably approaches. But both birth and death are beyond the will of a human being. They are not my domain.
I do not think about it. Yoga has taught me to think of only working to live a useful life. The complexity of the life of the mind comes to an end at death, with all its sadness and happiness. If one is already free from that complexity, death comes naturally and smoothly. If you live holistically at every moment, as yoga teaches, even though the ego is annihilated, I will not say, "Die before you die." I would rather say,
"Live before you die, so that death is also a lively celebration."”

That threshold - the point at which ‘the sense of Isvara pranidhana changes at different levels of sadhana’ - an exciting place to be. And then comes the relief knowing another level has been reconfigured and realigned towards the Source.

“The main human weakness is the ego. The ego is the biggest hurdle on the path of knowledge. Man is proud of all his achievements. Certainly, he can be proud of all that he has gained and achieved through his efforts. But with all his achievements, the moment he realises that he could be wrong, that his actions could be faulty and his knowledge limited, he begins to accept God. He drops his ego at the exact point where he realises his limits. He realises that he is less than God. And Patanjali introduces God to him at this threshold.

Patanjali asks the pupils and followers of yoga to do iśvara pranidhāna. Pranidhăna means total concentration. It is the state of ekagrata. Eka, means one and alone. It is a unique state. Agra means the first or the base that is the soul. Conscious attention on this one point - the soul - is ekagrata. Consciousness undergoes transformation with the practice of yoga. Patanjali wants the sadhaka to move the consciousness from this one-pointed attention of the soul towards God-pointed attention. This is Iśvara pranidhana This pranidhäna state of consciousness is a very refined, permanent, everlasting state. To achieve this state, Patanjali asks us to discipline ourselves by surrender, prayers and worship of God in the moral practice of niyama. He wants us to surrender the fruits of our actions when we adopt yoga with its discipline and practices. Though we become adepts in yoga, still the ego accompanies us as a companion; therefore, he asks us to concentrate only on God. Patañiali asks us to drop the ego and let go of all objects, thoughts and desires that squeezes and sucks our energy and consciousness - citta - like a leech that sucks the blood. This is how the sense of Isvara pranidhana changes at different levels of sadhana.”
