Eating healthy fats does not make you fat !
That is a myth
Healthy fat helps you to stay fit and healthy because it keeps you satisfied.
Great for hair, skin and nails
Great for supporting our s*x hormones so we are more balanced
Enables you to absorb vitamins A, D E and K
Sugar and carbs make as fat. That is what they are designed to do.
Excess sugar /glucose is stored in our fat cells as body fat to keep as warm and protect our internal organs
We have got it all back to front on the fat story 😁😁

Its lovely to be back with my furries, despite back to 5am starts with Freddie

When you get back from holidays, be kind to yourself for a couple of days.

Eat healthily, drink plenty of filtered water and rest.

Travelling, particularly air travel, can be hard on the gut ....

I might even finish work early today xx

Holiday can be so noisy!I love being away from day to day life but I miss the quiet of home😁😁🦋🦋

I’m on holiday this week and so I’m being a little more relaxed about my nutrition

I’m concentrating on fish and sea food and salad and so when I have a sorbet or ice cream I do it with joy and no guilt

My top tips when on your holiday are

Your body doesn’t know you are on holiday so don’t go too far off track particularly if you have a gut health issue

Decide before you go how many treats you will have per day and try and stick to it. No guilt if you can’t one day

Drink plenty of filtered or bottled water , don’t forget the electrolytes

And ENJOY yourself

See you all soon ###

Should you be eating lots of salad if you have IBS?

Maybe… maybe not.

The real question is, how does salad make you feel?

For many people with IBS, large raw salads can be hard to digest. Stress, rushing meals, not chewing properly, or low stomach acid can all make raw vegetables more difficult for your gut to handle.

Remember your nan telling you to chew your food? She was right. Digestion starts in the mouth.

If your salad leaves you with stomach ache, bloating, rushing to the loo, or feeling exhausted afterwards, your body is telling you something.

Instead, try roasted vegetables with olive oil and some chicken, turkey, cod or salmon. Cooked vegetables are often much kinder to an irritated gut.

Healthy food isn’t just about what’s on your plate. It’s about how your body responds to it.

Listen to your body. It knows more than you think.

In this heat I have been drinking kombucha and sparkling water with ice

Why? because your body is a little stressed by the heat

Any one else just a little tetchy ?

I don’t want to eat tonnes of fruit, too much sugar and what does sugar do ? Stores as fat ..
Fruit is a treat not a healthy food 😁

When you buy kombucha it needs to be, filtered water, green tea, kombucha cultures and sugar.
No sweeteners, no additives

One glass, sipped as a treat delicious

Keep your cool !

Electrolytes are important in this weather because you are sweating and losing your minerals

If you feel extra tired, headaches or have loose stools consider you maybe dehydrated

Water on its own won’t help . You can ping me for a link to my favourite electrolytes

Or my a little Himalayan sea salt under the tongue

Or buy something from
Boots . Not perfect but better than nothing

Look after yourselves today x

✨ Exciting things are happening at Food for Healthy Guts! ✨

Many of you know me as Jackie, the nutritional therapist who has spent the last few years helping people with IBS, acid reflux, bloating, weight struggles, low energy and all those niggly symptoms that stop us feeling our best.

Well, I'm delighted to tell you that Food for Healthy Guts is growing.

Over the coming months, we're building a team of specialist nutrition professionals who will support people through some of life's biggest health challenges.

Already joining us are specialists in:

🌱 Fertility & Hormones

🌱 Chronic Fatigue & Fibromyalgia

And over the next six months, we'll be welcoming specialists in:

🌱 Menopause

🌱 Paediatric Nutrition

🌱 Men's health

Why?

Because no one practitioner can be an expert in everything.

I want you to have access to the right support, from the right specialist, at the right time.

What makes this different is that we'll be working together behind the scenes. Sharing knowledge. Collaborating. Supporting each other. So you can feel confident that you're getting the best advice possible as your health improves and your needs change.

Whether you're struggling with gut symptoms, hormone changes, fatigue, fertility concerns, or looking for support for your child, we're creating a place where you'll feel heard, understood and supported.

💚 Discovery calls with me, Richelle and Tara will open from 1st July.

Until then, if you're curious, have questions, or wonder whether we might be able to help, just drop me a message.

I can't wait to introduce you to the team and share what we've been building.

Watch this space... exciting times ahead! 😊
