Three simple exercises that help maintain general strength and balance:
The squat
The press up
The single leg balance

Together they work many of the muscles we rely on for everyday activities and can help keep you strong, steady and moving well.

They can be easily adapted to your own ability too.

Why not have a go?

We’re trying something a little different and we’d love your help testing it!

We’re trialling a new AI reception service which means you can now call us 24 hours a day — even at 1am if the sudden urge to sort your booking strikes. 😂

It can make, change and cancel bookings, as well as answer some of the more common questions you might have.

We’ve also added a chat widget to the website which can do the same thing.

It’s still in training, so there may be questions it doesn’t know the answer to yet. If that happens, it’ll offer to arrange a call, text or email from me instead.

Most importantly, I’d really like to know how you get on with it. If you use it this week and anything seems confusing, doesn’t work properly or just feels a bit odd, please let me know.

If your knees and ankles feel stiff when you first wake up, and that first trip to the bathroom feels more like a hobble than a walk, this month’s top tip could help.

Balance is one of those things we often don’t think about until it starts to affect us.

The good news is, it doesn’t need hours of exercise or a complete routine overhaul. Little moments throughout the day really do add up. Waiting for the kettle to boil, brushing your teeth, standing in the kitchen… they’re all opportunities to build strength, stability and confidence.

A couple of minutes here and there can make a real difference over time. Little and often always wins.

Keep your balance in check.

It’s simple, quick, and something you can easily build into your day, whether you’re waiting for the kettle to boil or brushing your teeth.

A couple of minutes here and there can really add up. Give it a go and see how you get on and remember, a little done often is far more powerful than doing nothing at all.

With Spring gardening on the horizon, bending, lifting, digging and twisting are great for your body.

However, doing too much too soon can cause aches. Ease in, take breaks, change tasks often, and don’t panic if you feel a little stiff.

A bit of movement now sets you up to enjoy the garden more comfortably.

If you’d like to set up a tailored exercise plan, why not add that on to your next appointment.

Shoulders feeling tense?

Trapezius muscles (the ones that sometimes creep up to your ears!) often carry a lot of tension.

Massage feels great for a short time, but to really make a difference we need movement AND strength.

This month’s top tip video shows a simple band exercise to strengthen the muscles that pull your shoulders down and counterbalance the traps. Even a few minutes a day can help your shoulders feel stronger and reduce the feeling of tension or pain.

Why not give it a go? Just make sure you stand on the side of the door that is pulled shut!

‼️And remember: consistency wins over intensity!
