Big news, Torbay!🚐✨

We are so proud to officially introduce the new GoMove Physio van! This is a huge milestone for us, and it wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support and trust you’ve placed in our service. This investment is our way of giving that support back to you—this journey truly wouldn’t be possible without our patients and community.

Why the upgrade?
We’ve invested in this larger, specialised vehicle to better serve the Torbay community. The extra space allows us to carry advanced equipment and a wider range of professional rehab tools directly to your front door. For you, this means increased efficiency and more versatile, effective treatment sessions—bringing the full power of a clinic into the comfort of your home.

The story behind our new look:
Every shape on this van was designed with our mission in mind:

• 🟡 The Gold Silhouette: Represents the person—the central focus of every session. Gold symbolises the value we place on your individual independence.

• 🟢 The Connected Nodes: These represent the foundations of movement—nerves, neurones, and bones. They reflect the specialised clinical nature of our work, from neurological rewiring to MSK recovery.

• 🔵 The Teal Chevron: These nodes form a path moving forward with purpose, representing the progress we navigate together as a community.

A massive thank you to
for the incredible designs and to for the flawless application. You’ve helped us bring our vision to life!

To our patients, partners, and friends: thank you. Your belief in our mission has put us on the road, and we can’t wait to bring this new level of care to your driveway. 🏠💪

Keep an eye out for us around town and give us a wave! 👋

We’re taking a little ‘rehab’ break of our own!💆🏽‍♂️✨

At GoMove Physio, we always talk about the importance of listening to your body and prioritising recovery after some intense rehab sessions. This week, we’re practicing exactly what we preach.

To make sure we can continue providing the high-level care and focus you deserve, we’re stepping away for some annual leave from the 7th to the 16th.

We’ve made sure you’re still looked after while we’re out:

• ✨ Need to book? Our online diary never sleeps. It’s the easiest way to skip the phone tag and secure your spot for when we return. Just head to the link in our bio!

• 📩 Got a question? Our website contact form and DMs are open. We’ll be checking in periodically, so please bear with us for a slightly slower response than usual.

• 📱 A quick note on calls: We’ve hit ‘do not disturb’ on the clinic phone so we can fully recharge our batteries.

We can’t wait to get back into the clinic on the 17th, refreshed and ready to help you hit your movement goals.

Stay mobile, be kind to yourself, and we’ll see you soon!💪

A week in the life of a physio.🏥✨

It’s a mix of orthopaedics, neurology, chronic conditions, and constant problem-solving. It’s challenging, it’s busy, but seeing these wins—big or small—is what it’s all about.

Movement is medicine.👟

I’m sharing all the feedback I received this week, because rehab isn’t always a “before and after” photo.

It’s progress. It’s maintenance. And in the most sacred cases, it’s simply about supporting someone who has decided to keep fighting until the very end.

Grateful for the trust, even—and especially—in the hardest moments.🤍

What is RED-S? (The “Low Battery” Crisis)🪫🤔

Most athletes think “working harder” always leads to better results. But with RED-S (Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport), more training without enough fuel leads to a “physiological shutdown.”

Here’s why running on empty is a disaster for your body:

❌ It Steals from Your Bones: To keep your heart beating, your body stops repairing bone tissue. This leads to stress fractures and “weak spots” that won’t go away.

❌ It Crashes Your Hormones: In both men and women, essential hormones (like Testosterone and Estrogen) plummet. This kills your recovery, your mood, and your energy.

❌ It Slows Your Metabolism: Your body enters “Power Saver Mode.” It stops burning fuel efficiently and starts breaking down its own muscle just to keep the lights on.

More Blood Flow ≠ Better Healing?🦵🤔

In most injuries, we want more blood flow. But with tendinopathy, new blood vessels (neovascularization) are actually a sign of a “failed healing response.”

Here’s why those new vessels are bad news for your tendon:

❌ They’re “Leaky”: These vessels are low-quality and fail to deliver the actual nutrients the tendon needs to repair.

❌ They Cause Chaos: They take up space where strong collagen should be, weakening the tendon’s structure.

❌ They Bring Pain: New nerves grow alongside these vessels, making your tendon hypersensitive and painful.

NEW PB For Our Patient With A Neurodgenerative Condition!🧠👏🏆

NEURODEGENERATIVE CONDITION: This describes conditions where the nervous system loses function over time. A common example is Spinocerebellar Ataxia, which specifically impacts the brain’s ability to coordinate balance and movement.

In the world of neuro-physiotherapy, a lot of our work is naturally focused on management and support—helping people maintain their current level of function or finding ways to adapt as things change. Because these conditions are progressive, the goal is often to provide stability and safety.

However, that is exactly why seeing a patient make a tangible leap forward is so incredibly rewarding. Watching someone with a neurodegenerative condition improve their walking time from 34 minutes to 26 minutes (23% improvement) in just over three weeks is a powerful reminder that “management” doesn’t always mean “staying still.” We aren’t just managing a condition; we are reclaiming as much mobility and proving that improvement can still be possible in certain cases.
