Ever noticed a tiny, hard extra "nail" growing next to your pinky toe nail?

It is actually super common! Known as a Lister’s corn or Lacha, this little bump is often mistaken for a split or double toenail.

It forms when persistent pressure or friction—usually from tight footwear or toe rubbing—causes a thick buildup of dead skin right at the side of the nail fold.

How to Prevent It:-

Check your footwear: Switch to shoes with a wider toe box to stop your pinky toe from squeezing against the sides.

Add cushioning: Use silicone toe protectors or gel sleeves to reduce daily friction.

Moisturize regularly: Keeping the skin soft helps slow down hard skin buildup around the nails.

How to Remove It:-
Please skip the bathroom surgery! Attempting to clip, pick, or cut it off yourself can damage the delicate nail matrix, cause bleeding, or lead to painful infections.
I can help you !

As a Foot Health Practitioner, I safely and painlessly remove Lister’s corns right in the clinic. Using professional, sterile techniques, I can clear away the hardened skin and restore a smooth, clean look to your toe in just one quick appointment.

Balance is so important- especially as we get older. Great advice from Jill Drew Physiotherapy

Balance is so important- especially as we get older. Great advice from Jill Drew Physiotherapy

Small movements. Big benefits. This time… while you brush your teeth .

We often think improving our balance means setting aside time for a specific exercise session. But one of the easiest ways to move more is to attach a simple exercise to something you already do every day.

And hopefully we’re all brushing our teeth twice a day! 😊

Try standing on one leg while you brush your teeth.

Balance is a skill, and like strength, it benefits from regular practice. Standing on one leg challenges your muscles, joints and nervous system to work together to keep you steady.

And those little opportunities to practise really can add up.

You could start with just 10–20 seconds on each leg, keeping a hand near the basin or worktop if you need some support, and gradually build up as you become steadier.

The important thing is that exercise doesn’t always have to involve a trip to the gym, special clothes, equipment or finding an extra hour in your day.

☕ Calf raises while the kettle boils.
🪥 Balance while you brush.
📞 Walk while you chat.
🛍️ Use carrying and putting away the shopping as an opportunity to move and strengthen.

Movement can simply become part of the life you’re already living.

And it’s these everyday habits that can help us maintain our strength, balance, confidence and independence as we get older.

What everyday activity could you turn into a little movement opportunity?

Why do we look after the rest of our bodies...but not our feet.

You only get one pair!

🦶 YOUR FEET PUT UP WITH A LOT FROM YOU… ……

You squash them into shoes 👟
Stand on them ALL day…
Walk miles on them…
Forget about them for months…
And then wonder why they start complaining! 😩😂

Poor feet!

We really don’t appreciate just how incredible our feet are.

They carry the weight of our entire body and keep us walking, working, exercising, shopping, dancing and living our lives every single day. ❤️

Yet they’re probably one of the most underrated parts of our body.

We look after our hair 💇‍♀️
Our skin 🧴
Our teeth 🦷
Our eyes 👀
Our nails 💅

But our feet?

“They’ll be fine…” 🙈

Until they’re not!

So perhaps it’s time to give those hardworking feet a little love. 🥰🦶

Because when your feet feel good…
YOU feel good. ❤️

Why Everyone Is Talking About Urea Right Now and why you need to use it daily .

You’ve probably seen urea popping up everywhere in skincare recently—and if you’re dealing with dry, stubborn skin on your feet, it’s a total game-changer!

Urea is actually a naturally occurring compound and one of the absolute best ingredients for deep hydration and skin repair.

* Supercharges Hydration:
It helps to pull moisture deep into the skin and locks it there.

* Softens & Exfoliates:
It gently breaks down tough, calloused skin without harsh scrubbing, leaving your feet amazingly smooth.

* Strengthens the Barrier:
It repairs and protects your skin’s natural barrier to prevent future dryness and cracking.

In foot care, the percentage matters! Lower concentrations such as 10% are ideal for everyday moisture, while higher strengths such as 25% are fantastic for targeting thick, cracked heels that need serious love.

If your feet are feeling rough or tired, adding a urea-based cream to your routine will make a world of difference. Use it at night for best results.

Your feet carry you through life—literally!

Despite being the foundation of our entire body, our feet are often the most overlooked part of our self-care routine. It’s time to give them the proper love and attention they deserve!

Try implementing these 5 basic daily habits:

1️⃣ Wash daily: Keep them fresh and clean every single day.

2️⃣ Dry thoroughly: Don't skip drying, especially between your toes!

3️⃣ Check in: Regularly look out for blisters, redness, small cuts, or cracked skin.

4️⃣ Trim smart: Trim and file your toenails straight across to prevent issues.

5️⃣ Moisturise: Keep that skin smooth, hydrated, and healthy.

By locking in a simple daily routine, you can prevent problems before they start and keep your feet looking and feeling amazing.
