Yesterday was India Independence Day so we celebrated Indian culture with a party! Thank you to everyone who came, Sarah and Anchu for the dancing, staff for all the bonkers organising but biggest thanks goes to the kitchen team for making the most amazing Indian food. So heartbreaking to see our beautiful valley under such threat and devastation with these fires. We are all thinking of everyone in the Treherbert and surrounding areas. Just spoken to Ty Ross care home and they are all safe and the fire further away from them now as they evacuate to us if needed. Our residents are safe and we have closed all doors and windows because of smoke. Please if these fires are deliberate then STOP as so many lives are being put at risk.

UPDATE.....all sorted now, lines open and working.

Apologies if you are trying to contact our home by telephone but our lines are currently down. BT is on the case so hopefully our phones will be back in action in no time. If we need to contact any families urgently it will be by mobile phone while lines are down.

When you walk down the corridor to see what is going on and find the cause to be Clare Thomas and Lisa Evans dancing and singing on top of their lungs to a resident. Made our day to see random acts of thoughtfulness for our residents in making it a happy fun place 😀

What an amazing person and employee Gaynor our administrator has been over the years. She came to us as a carer and then transferred to administrator a few years ago, she is the utmost professional. The time has come for her to enjoy her well earned retirement. We wish you luck and happy times ahead from all at Ty Pentwyn, we will miss you xx
