Today, we welcomed the leadership team at Eggleton House, as we prepare to open our doors in July 2026.

This exceptional group of experienced and dedicated professionals brings together a shared commitment to compassion, quality, and excellence in care. Their collective skills and values set strong foundations for the culture we are building at Eggleton House.

As we move through the final stages of commissioning, our priorities remain clear and focused:
Establishing a strong, values led culture of caring, teamwork and compassion
Delivering outstanding, person centred care from the very first day
Creating a safe, welcoming, and high quality environment for residents and their families.

Opening a new care home is about more than bricks and mortar. It is about creating a genuine community where individuals feel respected, supported, and truly at home.

I would like to thank everyone involved in the journey so far. The professionalism, teamwork, and dedication across the Care UK team have been outstanding.

We are excited about the future and look forward to welcoming our first residents to Eggleton House very soon.

We are delighted to share that Halle, who is currently working as Interim Lifestyle Lead at our Outstanding-rated home, Cuttlebrook Hall in Thame, will be joining us to lead the Lifestyle Team at Eggleton House.

Halle brings a wealth of experience and is the perfect person to get our Lifestyle Team up and running - our new residents continue to enjoy meaningful, fulfilling lives from day one.

This afternoon I had the pleasure of meeting with Hannah Say from Say it with a Smile Dementia Charity again - and what an exciting and inspiring meeting it was!

We’re delighted to share that Say it with a Smile will be partnering with Eggleton House, Care UK to launch our very own Smile Café at our home. This will be a monthly dementia-friendly coffee morning, offering individuals, friends, and families a welcoming space to enjoy a cup of tea, some delicious cake, and meaningful support. We’re also incredibly grateful to have the support of the Alzheimer’s Society in helping with these sessions and strengthen our local dementia community.

But that’s not all…

We’re also proud to be hosting Say it with a Smile for the launch of their Memory Steps course in Tring. Designed for dementia carers and those recently diagnosed, this course will provide a wealth of knowledge, practical tools, and supportive techniques to help navigate the condition. The first course will take place in our home this October.

Together, these initiatives will support Tring - and Carol Nutkins, who steps into the role of Mayor of Tring this month - on its journey to becoming a truly dementia-friendly town.

Hannah was also very lucky to have a sneaky peek at the home in the midst of it being built, hard hat and all!

What a glorious morning spent out and about in Tring, connecting with local businesses and sharing details of our upcoming Understanding Dementia event with Dr Nori Graham on 8th July.

It was fantastic to receive such a warm welcome, with so many meaningful conversations about our home and the care we provide. I’ve quickly come to appreciate that Tring is a community built on strong local support—something that can sometimes take time to become part of. Thankfully, we’ve been embraced with open arms.

A sure sign of a successful morning? Running out of flyers thanks to the level of interest—and being asked to come back with more as soon as possible! ☀️

Yesterday afternoon, I had the pleasure of meeting with Hannah Say at the Say it with a Smile headquarters to discuss Eggleton House, the care we will provide, and the wider dementia support available in Tring.

It was truly inspiring to hear about the invaluable work Say it with a Smile does for people living with dementia, and to learn more about the impact of their charity within the community.

We spent nearly two hours exploring how we might collaborate on events and initiatives, focusing on what will deliver the greatest value to those who need it most.

I’m delighted that we came away with a plan of action - there are some exciting times ahead as we begin to bring these ideas to life.

And while I may have forgotten to take the obligatory selfie (too busy sharing ideas!), I’d say that’s a win. 💜

We had such a wonderful time showcasing Eggleton House and connecting with our local community. It was a great opportunity to introduce ourselves to the people of Tring, share the types of care our home will offer, and highlight the exciting community engagement and events we have planned.
