Troon Therapies

Troon Therapies Be extra kind to yourself. You have been dealing with the emotional impact of these past several months. Negative emotions can linger and re-emerge for us all.

As a Trauma-Informed Somatic Practitioner, my therapeutic approach to health and well-being is deeply rooted in over 25 years of experience, and enriched by a diverse range of healing modalities. It is normal to have lots of different feelings, from worry to waves of panic and feelings of anxiety. Our brain wants predictable activity and close contact so we can relax our vigilant nervous system. S

ocial and physical distancing has interrupted this predictable activity and close contact. As a result, we are experiencing emotional numbness and vulnerability. Practices and body-based approaches that manage stress reactions in the moment are crucial for us right now. A body-based approach, through embodied, trauma informed yoga and attuned touch, is important for our mental health and well-being. It is essential that we foster counter emotions and create a safe space within ourselves. If you have felt a negative impact on your mental health and physical well-being, please get in touch for one of my, 'Embodied Escape' packages. My therapeutic approach to health and well-being is very much informed by my twenty years experience as a bodyworker, energy healer and embodied, trauma informed yoga teacher, supporting individuals, families and groups who have experienced high levels of stress, depression, anxiety and trauma.

I found a snail trail on my green mat. I love green in the therapy room. 🟒

'Finding a snail trail on your new green mat in a therapy room holds rich, beautiful symbolism for your practice. In therapeutic and spiritual contexts, a snail's 🐌 presence on a green foundation speaks to patience, protection, grounding, and deep emotional processing.

The slow moving pace and patience of the snail is symbolic in honouring your client's timeline. Healing cannot be rushed. Sustainable progress happens one small step at a time. πŸ‘£

With its shell a snail is always safe and at home within itself. This mirrors the ultimate goal of therapy: helping clients find safety, boundaries, and a sense of 'home' in their own mind and bodies.

The silver trail is a visible reminder you are on a journey, from start to finish with many detours in between. Journaling can help track your progress. ✍

Green is the colour of the heart chakra πŸ’š representing healing, compassion, love, and emotional balance. A fresh start, fertility of ideas, and a safe space for psychological and spiritual growth. The green mat on the floor represents earth, stability, and being grounded during difficult emotional storms.

Finding this unexpected trail suggests that your therapy room is a consecrated space for slow, protected, and deeply grounded healing. It is a reminder πŸ’‘to trust the slow process of growth, to protect your own energy (and teach clients to protect theirs), and to celebrate the quiet, silver paths of progress that are being made every day'.

Give yourself the gift of your own presence, and anchor yourself in the present moment. The present moment is occurring now. It's not in the past or in the future. It is here and now.

As we anchor in the present moment we consciously choose to slow down. We eliminate distractions, we appreciate small joys, and practice self compassion.

How migh it feel to pause, and catch your breath?

On average we breathe 20,000 times per day.

Breathing in - I know I'm breathing in,

Breathing out, I know I'm breathing out...

The Wisdom of Insecurity

"If we are to have intense pleasures, we must also be liable to intense pains. The pleasure we love, and the pain we hate, but it seems impossible to have the former without the latter."

You could buy a packet of these, pretend your Zen, and spend your afternoon practicing mindfulness. Close you're eyes, pop one in your mouth, and let the flavour come to you. OR be a multi mindful taster, and fire in three or four at a time. Even better. Explore each flavour individually, then as a group flavour. I'd great fun last night, trying to coat a raisin I ate the chocolate off, with an orange one.
