As the children get ready to leave for school, we can’t help but feel a little emotional thinking about how much we will miss them. It has been such a joy watching them grow, learn, laugh, and make so many wonderful memories together. We hope they enjoyed their special circus-themed party and that it gave them one more happy memory to take with them as they begin this exciting new chapter. We are so proud of each and every one of them and wish them endless happiness, confidence, and success as they start their school journey. Although we will miss their smiles, laughter, and little personalities each day, we know they are ready to spread their wings and shine bright. 🎪❤️

We enjoyed our stay and play last Friday. Father’s Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate fathers and all the special people in our lives who provide love, guidance, support, and encouragement. Whether they are dads, grandfathers, stepfathers, mentors, guardians, or other role models, these individuals help shape who we are through their kindness, strength, and dedication. This day reminds us to express our gratitude for the sacrifices they make, the lessons they teach, and the care they show every day. By spending time together, sharing memories, and saying thank you, we honor the important role they play in our lives and celebrate the lasting impact of their love and support.

During National Healthy Food Week, we introduced a variety of nutritious dishes. We made vegan sushi and apple doughnuts, which involved cutting apples into the shape of doughnuts and serving them with Greek yogurt and cinnamon. We also set up a smoothie shop where each child received a ticket to choose their favorite flavors and press the button to blend their smoothie. The children thoroughly enjoyed this delicious and healthy activity. On Friday we made our own humous.

This week we all enjoyed celebrating world bee day. We started off the day by listening to a video about where bees find pollen and how they make it into honey. A tuff tray was set up with soil and different bee shaped objects for the children to explore. Some of the children interacted with our bee playdough and a few made their own bees with pinecones, we did the honey bear game in circle time and everyone tried honey on a cracker for afternoon snack. Toddler room also made some honey bread and babies played with gloop and pasta honeycomb.

This week we have celebrated earth day and St Georges day. We explores a recycling centre and looked and what things were mad out of. We talked about things we can re-use. The children were surprised to find out that we even recycle our food waste into pig food! To celebrate ST Georges day we explored a tea-time tuff tray. We practised pouring and tipping. We explored numbers and how many sugars we would have. One child told me 10! We spoke about how that many sugars might make our teeth bad and we would need to go to the dentist. I asked the children whose mummies and daddies liked tea, some told me yes, others said their parents liked coffee. We also had lots of fun baking (and trying) scones. Toddlers also explored our flag colours by mixing red and white with different materials.

A huge thank you to our amazing staff from both Trowbridge and Melksham settings who gave up their Saturday to complete paediatric first aid training 👏

Ensuring all staff are fully trained in paediatric first aid is so important to us. It means we can provide a safer environment for every child in our care, respond quickly and confidently in an emergency, and give families peace of mind knowing their children are in capable hands.
