Land to Sea CBT

Land to Sea CBT CBT & EMDR Therapist

Mental Health & Wellbeing Support and Therapy service.

Delivering Farm Fit wellbeing support for farmers in Cornwall in collaboration with Fairwinds Cornwall. Farm Fit is a wellbeing project for farmers and their families run by Land to Sea CBTin partnership with Fairwinds Cornwall. Farm Fit is 1 of 12 projects to have been successful in securing funding via the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Su***de Innovation Fund to offer support to farmers and families across Cornwall and the IOS. We aim to engage with the farming community, working with partnership agencies to provide practical wellbeing support. Farm Fit is run by an experienced mental health practitioner and CBT Therapist who has 20years experience working in NHS mental health services. Farm Fit works in a practical and constructive way, supporting farmers to help identify, manage stressors, and build resilience in a way that is right for them. Offering timely access to a wellbeing assessment for wellbeing support and psychological therapy as required. Providing the correct level of intervention tailored specifically to individual need. If the farmer or their families require more specialised support, they will know who to refer to for further support. Farm Fit understands that famers work long hours and leaving the farm for
appointments can be a problem. Therefore, Farm Fit can provide support over a range of modalities such as phone, online and offer ‘walk and talk’ sessions in which they can visit your farm offering an outreach approach. If you would like to make contact with Farm Fit then please contact:
[email protected] or call on 07765 738475

If you are feeling vulnerable or at risk or aware of someone that is, please contact the 24/7 mental health crisis support line 0800 038 5300 or access via Cornwall Foundation Trust webpage which has a direct link and provides more information on support services. ⚡ Fairwinds is 8 years old this September.

In 2018, Fairwinds began as a small charity-funded pilot providing mental health and wellbeing support to Newlyn fishermen.

Eight years later, it has grown into a much wider rural and coastal outreach model.

Over time, the service has developed in response to what we have learned from the communities we work alongside. Outreach became an increasing part of Fairwinds from 2021, taking support beyond traditional service settings and into the places where people live and work.

Our reach has since grown across fishing and farming communities, from Newlyn to Port Isaac and beyond, working alongside NHS services, GPs, charities, industry organisations, community groups and local partners.

The photographs tell part of that story, from the early days in Newlyn, through community outreach and farming events, to the wider partnership work Fairwinds is involved in today.

We are incredibly proud of how Fairwinds has developed over the past eight years, and especially grateful to the people, communities and organisations who have trusted us, worked alongside us and helped shape what the service has become today.

Eight years feels like a good moment to recognise just how far we have come.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey so far.
Fairwinds Team 🙏⚡

We were at Truro Livestock Market again today. Sarah heard from farmers and others about the worries associated with Bluetongue disease. We want to remind farmers that help and support is available to them at this time. If you are finding yourself increasingly worried, stressed, anxious or angry and frustrated at this time, please reach out for support. Sometimes just talking things through with someone who can provide a support ear can help navigate through tricky and uncertain times. You can contact Sarah on 07765 738475 or [email protected]

What Are the Midsummer Bonfires?

Tansys Golowan has been part of Cornwall’s cultural heartbeat for centuries. Each year, Old Cornwall Societies rekindle the Midsummer Bonfires on hilltops across the Duchy, echoing ancient customs of community, protection, and celebration.

These fires once marked the turning of the year, the height of summer, and the strength of community bonds. Today, they continue as a living tradition — passed from generation to generation, keeping Cornish identity burning bright.
