As Forging Futures embarks on a new chapter, I'm reminded of the spark that ignited this journey.

In 2019, my daughter Freya faced a perfect storm of challenges: secondary school, hormonal changes, a pandemic, and navigating her neurodiversity in a world that didn't always understand.

For years, she bravely battled mental health crises, and I wished for a sanctuary where she could find calm, build strength, and develop the skills to thrive.

When I discovered Equine Assisted Coaching in 2023, I knew I had to create that safe haven for Freya and others like her.

Freya may not be a 'horse person,' but Lupin's gentle spirit saw beyond that, offering a sense of stability and comfort when it mattered most.

🌿 A Day Away, A Welcome Home 🐴

Yesterday, I took a rare and cherished day off for my annual pilgrimage to - a soul filling tradition shared with my dear friend ✨

Today, back at the yard, Corka was keen to find out where I'd been. Horses ask questions not with words but with touch and scent.

Once the silent assessment was over, he leaned in to 'share air's - the horses version of a handshake or perhaps a hug. A gentle gesture that says ' You're one of us. Welcome home' ❤️

🌟 Meet Freya, the newest member of our Forging Futures family! 🌟

With a little help from her mum, Freya does an amazing job helping us care for the ponies — and clearly, they adore her just as much as she loves them! 🐴💕

Here’s what Freya has to say:

🗨️ “When I'm around the Forging Futures ponies, I feel good. Corka follows me around all the time and it's so funny! Lupin is a little furry, cuddly fluff ball and so sweet. Huxley is really funny when it comes to the water buffet – he just shakes his head in it! Dundee also follows me everywhere and chases the others away like he's trying to protect me. They’re all so cute and cuddly. I love them so much!” 💖

We’re so lucky to have Freya (and her beautiful bond with the ponies) as part of our community! 🥰🐎
