Beloved wife of the late John; loving mother and mother-in-law of Julie, David, Cy and Jan; caring Nain of Lisa, Josh, Beccy and Brad; proud Nainy of Aleks, Seb and Olivia.

Public service at St. Cadfan’s Church, Tywyn, on Tuesday 15th September at 11.00 a.m., followed by interment at Tywyn Cemetery.

Following the service, you are warmly invited to join the family at the Tredegar Arms to share memories of Joan.

This really stopped me in my tracks.

I was 10 in 1999 when we watched the eclipse. A group of us stood together, bikes dumped on the floor, and for five minutes everything just… stopped.

I remember buying the newspaper because it came with the free glasses to watch it through.

At 10 years old, life felt busy. We had places to be, things to do, adventures to get back to. Yet looking back now, the truth is we had nothing but time.

Working as a funeral director, I’m reminded every day just how quickly that time passes.

So, if you can, watch the eclipse tonight. And especially if you have children, take them outside and watch it with them.

Put everything else down for a few minutes.

They might not understand why it matters now. You might think it’s just another evening, another little interruption in a busy day.

But one day, many years from now, they may remember exactly where they were, who they were with, and what it felt like to stand together and look up.

I know I do.

Sometimes the moments that take only five minutes stay with us for a lifetime.

Make the memory. ❤️
