The best part of a retreat isn’t usually what’s written on the timetable...

Of course, you’ll remember the yoga or Pilates sessions.

The spectacular walks.

The delicious homemade meals.

The sauna overlooking beautiful Welsh scenery.

But ask anyone who’s stayed with us what they remember most, and it’s often something completely unexpected...

Laughing around the dinner table with people who were strangers just a day before.

Standing quietly together watching the sun set over the sea.

Finding the confidence to try a cold-water swim.

Sharing stories long after the evening’s activity has finished.

Realising you haven’t looked at your phone for hours... and haven’t missed it.

Those are the moments that stay with you long after you’ve unpacked your bags.

If you’re looking for a few days to reconnect—with yourself, with nature and with wonderful people—we’d love to welcome you to our Autumn Equinox Retreat or Maggie’s Pilates Retreat this autumn.

More information is available via the link in our bio.

If you could leave one thing behind for four days...what would it be?

The overflowing inbox?

The constant notifications?

The never-ending to-do list?

The pressure to always be productive?

Sometimes, the most valuable thing we can do isn’t add something new to our lives, it’s create space by stepping away from what no longer serves us.

Imagine swapping screen time for mountain views, deadlines for beach walks, meetings for meaningful conversations, and stress for deep breaths.

That’s what our retreats are all about.

A few days to move your body, nourish yourself with delicious food, reconnect with nature and remember what it feels like to simply be.

If you’ve been craving a reset before autumn turns to winter, our Autumn Equinox Retreat and Maggie’s Pilates Retreat are both designed to help you slow down, recharge and return home feeling refreshed.

You can find all the details via the link in our bio.

One of the simplest things we do on every Sunsetbay Retreat is also one of the most powerful - every day, we head out for a walk.

Whether we’re exploring waterfalls, wandering along the coastline, climbing into the hills or taking in the peaceful beauty of the forests and lakes, our walks are about so much more than the scenery. Walking is one of the easiest ways to support your physical and mental wellbeing. It can help improve your mood, strengthen your heart, boost your energy, reduce stress and encourage you to spend more time in nature. Best of all, it’s something that almost everyone can enjoy, regardless of age or fitness level.

We know that our guests enjoy these walks while they’re with us, but we hope that they leave inspired to make walking part of their everyday lives too. It doesn’t have to be a mountain hike. It could be parking a little further away, getting off the bus a stop early, taking an evening stroll or asking a friend to join you for a walk. Small steps really do add up.

Sometimes the best thing you can do for your body and your mind is simply put on your walking boots, head outside and let nature do the rest.

What is your favourite place to walk?

Some sunsets simply ask you to stop and watch.

There’s something unforgettable about ending the day on the beach, listening to the gentle rhythm of the waves as the sky transforms into shades of gold, pink and amber.

No two sunsets are ever the same, yet every one has a way of slowing us down. Conversations pause, phones are forgotten, and for a few precious moments, everyone is simply present.

It’s one of the reasons we love this special corner of Wales so much. The sunsets have a way of reminding us that nature doesn’t rush, and perhaps we don’t always need to either.

Whether we’ve spent the day hiking, practising yoga, wild swimming or simply relaxing, watching the sun disappear below the horizon together is the perfect way to end another day on retreat.

Sometimes the best part of the day is simply sitting still...and watching it come to a close.

Food has a way of bringing people together.

One of the highlights of every Sunsetbay Retreat is gathering around the table to enjoy food that has been lovingly prepared by our incredible plant-based chefs. From colourful breakfasts to nourishing evening meals, every dish is thoughtfully created using fresh, seasonal ingredients that leave our guests feeling satisfied, energised and inspired. Even those who don’t usually eat plant-based often tell us they’re amazed by the flavours and creativity on every plate.

But it’s about more than just the food. It’s watching our chefs prepare each meal with such care, hearing the inspiration behind the dishes, and then seeing everyone come together around one table – sharing stories, laughter and conversation long after the plates have been cleared. Those shared meals often become some of the most treasured moments of the retreat.

To our wonderful chefs, thank you for nourishing not only our guests, but the warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes every retreat feel so special.

“Yoga is for everyone.”

One of the things we love most about our retreats is seeing guests discover that yoga isn’t about being flexible, experienced or able to touch your toes. It’s about showing up exactly as you are.

Catherine has joined us on six retreats, and in this video she shares her experience of how our yoga sessions are welcoming, supportive and suitable for all abilities. Whether you’re completely new to yoga or have been practising for years, our sessions are designed to help you move, breathe, relax and reconnect with yourself at your own pace. There is no pressure, no judgement and no need to be ‘good’ at yoga.

If you’ve been thinking about joining us but feel nervous about the yoga aspect, take it from Catherine – you really can start wherever you are.

Our next seasonal retreat is:

Autumn Equinox Mid Week Retreat
Monday 21st – Friday 25th September 2026

Join us for yoga, coastal walks, nourishing food, relaxation, connection and a chance to reset as we move into a new season. We’d love to welcome you.

Not everyone approached the rope swing at Dolgoch Falls yesterday with the same level of confidence…and that’s exactly what made it so special.

Some launched themselves with speed, some needed a little encouragement, some cheered from the sidelines, and some surprised themselves completely.

One of the best things about retreat life is that it’s never about who jumps the highest, swims the furthest or conquers the biggest challenge. It’s about supporting each other, celebrating every small victory and sharing moments that become stories long after the retreat ends.

The laughter, the cheering, the nervous anticipation and the triumphant smiles made this one of those unforgettable bonding moments.

Whether you swung, encouraged or simply watched with a smile, you were part of it.

The chapel may be where your Sunsetbay Retreat begins...but it’s only the start of the adventure.

Step outside and you’ll discover rugged coastlines, hidden beaches, mountain trails, ancient woodlands, waterfalls, lakes perfect for wild swimming, and some of the most breathtaking scenery Wales has to offer.

Every Sunsetbay Retreat is designed to help you reconnect with nature as much as yourself. Whether it’s a sunrise walk, a refreshing sea dip, a peaceful moment overlooking the estuary, or simply breathing in the fresh coastal air, there’s always something waiting to be discovered.

Because a retreat isn’t just about where you stay, it’s about the places you explore, the memories you make, and the moments that take your breath away.
