Bright lights can make you feel more alert or tense, the opposite of want you want in labour.

Dim lighting can help you to relax. So no big lights, try lamps and string lights instead.

Fun fact: when you place a cold flannel on your forehead to cool down, the flannel itself isn’t “cooling” you, it’s helping draw heat away from the body. Heat naturally moves toward the colder area, which is why the flannel warms up!

Anyway, they are such a helpful tool during labour especially for swelling & inflammation.
