Good looks run in the family. 🌞
Tibetan poppy – Meconopsis horridula
O***m poppy – Papaver somniferum
Common poppy – Papaver rhoeas
California poppy – Eschscholzia californica
All are members of the poppy family (Papaveraceae) and, at first glance, could easily be mistaken for one another.
Look a little closer, however, and each reveals its own unique characteristics. Closer still, each reveals its own distinct phytochemical profile.
Their chemistry helps us understand what they do; their place in nature helps us understand who they are.
