This evening, I had the privilege of meeting with a lovely family as we began preparing for a very special Celebration of Life Service, which I am both honoured and privileged to lead as their Celebrant Minister.

Every family I meet reminds me that my role extends far beyond the arrangements themselves. It is about listening to their stories, understanding what makes their loved one so special, helping them find the right words when emotions are difficult to express, and bringing together a service that truly reflects a life lived and the memories that will forever remain.

Over the past five years, being welcomed into the lives of families across the communities I am so Blessed to serve has given me more reasons to be thankful than words can adequately express.

To be entrusted with such personal moments, to stand alongside families in their grief, and to help them celebrate a life filled with love, memories and meaning is something I will never take for granted.

It is more than a role; it is a responsibility, a privilege, and a calling that continues to mean so much to me.

To every family who has placed their trust in me, allowed me to share in their memories, and given me the opportunity to make a difference when it matters most, thank you.

Your trust is never taken for granted, and the privilege of serving my communities remains one of the greatest blessings of my life.

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿

There are moments,
often in the stillness of midnight
or in the first quiet hours before dawn,
when we turn toward prayer
and something within us begins to soften.

At first, there are words.

We recite them slowly,
letting each one pass through the heart.

But sometimes, somewhere between
one prayer and the next,
the words become unnecessary.

The heart begins to speak
in a language deeper than words.

And the eyes fill with tears.

Not always because we are sad.

Sometimes tears come
because we have suddenly touched
something too beautiful to explain.

A presence.
A nearness.
A love so vast
that the heart cannot contain it
without overflowing.

In those moments,
the tears seem to wash something away;

the restless thoughts,
the fears,
the “𝘪𝘥𝘭𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘷𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴”
that so often occupy the mind.

For a moment,
the noise within us becomes quiet.

We are no longer trying
to understand everything.

We are simply present
before the Divine.

And perhaps this is one of
the hidden gifts of prayer:

it does not always give us answers.

Sometimes it gives us
a heart quiet enough
to remember what matters.

Sometimes the deepest healing
does not come through understanding,
but through surrender.

And sometimes tears are not
a sign that the heart is broken.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻
𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱.

Opened to beauty.
Opened to love.
Opened to the majesty of the Divine.

And in that sacred stillness,
when words have fallen away
and tears have become the prayer,

we may discover
that we were never truly alone.

𝗗𝗼 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴

Our journey begins with a single breath in, welcoming the gift of existence.

And one day, it will end with a final breath out, releasing us from this earthly journey.

Between these two breaths lies a lifetime.

A precious, unpredictable, extraordinary stretch of moments in which we are given the opportunity to love, to learn, to wonder, to grow, and to discover what it means to be truly alive.

Yet how often do we miss the very life we have been given?

Our bodies are here, but our minds are somewhere else.
Revisiting conversations that have already ended.
Rehearsing disappointments that may never come.
Worrying about tomorrow while yesterday continues to occupy our thoughts.

And somewhere between what has been and what might be, the present moment quietly passes us by.

We forget that life is not waiting for us in the future. It is happening now.

𝗥𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲.

Feel the ground beneath your feet.
Notice the light entering the room, the trees moving in the breeze, the birds singing their ordinary songs.
Listen when someone speaks to you.

Let yourself be touched by a kindness, a beautiful thought, a moment of unexpected joy.

You do not need extraordinary circumstances to experience the extraordinary.

Sometimes, being fully present for an ordinary moment is what makes it extraordinary.

And as you move through your days, remember that your time and attention are precious.

Give them to what truly matters.

Love the people you love while you have the opportunity.
Say the words that need to be said.
Make room for wonder.
Release the burdens you were never meant to carry forever.

Not everything deserves your worry, and not every disappointment deserves to occupy your heart indefinitely.

𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗺𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱, 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘀, 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁.

You can make plans without becoming imprisoned by the future.
You can honour the past without allowing it to become the place where you live.

And you can acknowledge life's uncertainty without allowing it to steal the beauty of today.

Because everything that begins will, in time, reach its ending.
This is not a reason to live in fear.
It is an invitation to live with greater tenderness, greater awareness, and a deeper appreciation for what is here.

We cannot hold on to every moment.
We cannot prevent every change.
And we cannot know how many ordinary mornings, familiar voices, or quiet evenings remain before life changes its shape again.

But 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲.

Perhaps peace begins when we stop demanding that life remain as we wish it to be and learn instead to meet it as it unfolds; with courage, gratitude, and trust in the One who holds mysteries beyond our understanding.

So take a breath.
Come back to yourself.
Come back to the people around you.
Come back to the beauty that has been waiting patiently for you to notice it.

You have only this life to live, this moment to inhabit, this breath to receive.

𝗗𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘁.

For one day, we will take our final breath, and what will matter most may not be how much we accomplished or how carefully we planned for tomorrow.

It may be how deeply we loved, how fully we were present, how much beauty we allowed ourselves to see, and how gently we touched the lives entrusted to our care.

𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁.
𝗜𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻. 🤍 🌿

May bountiful blessings come your way today and always. ✨

🕯️ The Story You Leave 🕯️

One day, people will remember you through fragments.

A sentence you repeated. The way your face changed when they entered the room. Whether mistakes became lessons or lifelong shame. Whether your success made others feel smaller, or safer. Whether home felt like a place to perform, or a place to return.

Legacy is rarely the monument we imagine.

It is the emotional climate that remains in people after our voice is no longer in the room.

Children may forget the price of the gifts. Colleagues may forget the exact project. Friends may forget the restaurant, date, or argument. They will often remember how their nervous system felt around you—guarded, hurried, respected, encouraged, afraid, understood.

That is sobering, but it is also hopeful.

You do not need extraordinary wealth or fame to leave something powerful. You can become the person whose apology repaired trust, whose presence made truth safer, whose faith created steadiness instead of fear, whose love did not need an audience.

God measures faithfulness differently from the world. Heaven is not impressed by a polished image that left wounded people behind.

The story you leave is being written in ordinary interactions right now.

Write it slowly. Correct it when needed. Let humility edit the chapters pride would defend.

May the people who remember you inherit more courage than confusion, more warmth than fear, and more freedom than unfinished pain.

There are days when I wish I could hear your voice just one more time.

Until then, I'll keep loving you the only way I can—
through every memory,
every prayer,
and every heartbeat that still carries your name.

Even though I can't see you anymore,
I love you just the same. 🤍

If someone in Heaven still lives in your heart, leave a white heart below. 🕊️

I'll Meet You There:
On the days I miss you most
I'll close my eyes and sleep.
I'll meet you in my dreams
in a moment we can keep.

I'll meet you with a hug
and with things I want to say.
I'll meet you under the sun
or a different place each day.

I'll meet you by the river
or back at our old home.
And at the times I cannot find you
In my dreams i shall still roam.

I'll meet you in the coffee shop
or at your favourite place.
I don't care just where it is
as long as I see your face.

I'll meet you at a park
so you can watch the children play.
You can take their laughter
back to heaven every day.

I'll meet you on each birthday
we no longer get to share.
I don't care just where it is
but I'll meet you there.

I'll meet you in the sunshine
or in the pouring rain.
I will walk through any storm
just to see you again.

I will meet you in my thoughts
a million times a day,
along with every memory
I am lucky to replay.

Grief is a strange thing. Some days it feels distant, and other days it returns with the smallest reminder—a song, a scent, a memory, or a moment when you instinctively want to share something with someone who is no longer here.

The people we love never truly disappear. They live on in the stories we tell, the values they taught us, and the countless memories that still make us smile through the tears. Their absence is deeply felt, but so is their love. And while we can no longer see them, their presence remains in the quiet corners of our hearts, reminding us that love does not end when life does.

Missing them is a reflection of how deeply they were loved, and that love will stay with us forever. 🤍🕊️

Some people leave this world, but they never truly leave our hearts.

No matter how much time passes, there are days when the silence feels heavier, the memories feel closer, and the longing feels stronger than ever.

Missing you is my heart's longest journey — a journey that has no destination and no ending. It lives in the quiet moments, in the songs that remind me of you, in the places we once shared, and in the memories I revisit when I miss you the most.

I carry pieces of you everywhere I go. In every smile, every tear, every lesson you left behind, and every beautiful memory that time could never erase.

They say time heals, but some losses simply become a part of who we are. We learn to live with the ache, but we never stop wishing for one more conversation, one more hug, one more moment.

Forever loved.
Forever missed.
Forever carried in my heart. 🤍🕊️

Some people may leave this world, but the love they gave us stays with us forever. 🤍

We find them in the little things… a familiar song, an old photograph, a quiet night filled with memories we never expected to revisit.

Grief is not just sadness — it is love that continues even after goodbye. And some hearts are simply impossible to forget. ❤️
