💜 World Psoriasis Day – 29th October 💜
Did you know that psoriasis is a long-term inflammatory skin condition that affects people of all ages?
Psoriasis causes skin cells to build up more quickly than normal, leading to patches of dry, flaky or scaly skin. It can also affect a person's confidence, emotional wellbeing and quality of life.
🔎 Common symptoms include:
🔴 Raised, scaly patches of skin
💜 Itching, soreness or irritation
🖐️ Dry or cracked skin that may bleed
💅 Changes to nails, such as pitting or thickening
🦴 Joint pain or stiffness in some people
💜 Did you know?
Psoriasis is not contagious – you cannot catch it from someone else.
Symptoms can vary from person to person.
Although there is currently no cure, treatments are available to help manage symptoms.
🌍 World Psoriasis Day aims to raise awareness, challenge misconceptions and support those living with the condition.
If you're experiencing symptoms of psoriasis, or your current treatment isn't helping, please speak to your GP practice for advice.
