I started my hairdressing career over 30 years ago at a college in Fareham, Hampshire which I thoroughly enjoyed and knew immediately this was going to be my chosen career. I have worked in many salons in different positions including stylist and colour technician. Whilst bringing up my family I was able to work as a freelance hairdresser offering a mobile service, as my children grew I trained as

a college lecturer and received my Teaching qualification, D32/D33 and CertEd. I have worked as a hairdressing lecturer, course manager and tutor for 11 years where I had taught at many levels from introduction to advanced and more recently Wig Making (knotting, weaving, application and maintenance/care). With my gained wig making skills and knowledge I have been able to help some close friends and colleagues through hard times, needing assistance and guidance with purchasing and styling a wig. I would like to offer an easy, stress free personal service for anyone requiring a wig, whether it’s due to illness, treatment or personal preference. I have created a purpose built salon in my home for clients with a range of wigs and aftercare products. Upon request I can visit you in the comfort of your own home offering a consultation along with wig samples and catalogues. I am now able to accept NHS wig vouchers from NUH trust..

I would like to sincerely thank all my customers whom I have had the pleasure of seeing over the past 12 years.

Wigwonders started as a dream that I turned into a reality. It has been the most rewarding job I have ever done, and I have made some wonderful friends along the way too.

It has been a privilege to help clients with advice, wigs and toppers, wig cutting, head coverings, reconditioning, and much more. Whether it has been due to treatment or living with alopecia, I have always tried my very best to listen and advise on the best options for you.

It is now time for me to say goodbye and begin a new chapter in my life. Family commitments mean that I now need to take early retirement.

I am currently in the process of selling the business as a going concern, so all client information will be transferred to the new owner. Although I am now closed, I will update everyone when I know more.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support over the years.

After much thought, I have made the difficult decision to take early retirement and place Wigwonders up for sale due to family commitments.
Wigwonders has been built from a dream I had over 12 years ago, and while this decision hasn’t been easy, the time has come to hopefully pass the business on to someone who shares the same passion and dedication that I do.
The past 12 years have been incredibly rewarding — without doubt the most fulfilling career I have ever had. Since relocating to Hucknall, Nottingham, Wigwonders has grown into the successful business it is today.
Along the way, I have secured two NHS provider contracts, allowing support for treatment and alopecia clients with a wide range of hair loss needs. I have also established five wig accounts with well-known wig companies, alongside many other valuable business assets.
If you are a hairdresser within the Nottinghamshire area looking to train or expand your business to include wigs, I would love to hear from you.
The business remains fully operational as usual for the time being, and I am more than happy to provide any training required during the transition.
Finally, I would like to thank all of my wonderful clients I’ve met throughout this journey. It has truly been a privilege to support and help so many people, and I will miss you all greatly.
