Yesterday, I posted on my story about getting out of the "yoga teacher" title.
Not because I am giving up but because I've realised that everything I've gone through and been through has led me here.
And I remember how hard I've worked on myself to get out of the box, and I am not getting back in one with a different label.
The expectations that come along with "yoga teacher" are through more smoke and mirrors, and most of them aren't true.
(I truly believe the word "yoga" is being butchered, and I want no part in it)
The background work is where the magic lies, not through the number of followers we have, not through daily posts, not through the lens of a perfect life,
It's through the messiness and getting through the difficult times. it's knowing what your happy place is, not someone else's
It's knowing how connected you are to everything and everyone.
It's being able to look at yourself in the mirror and know who the hell you are and actually like what you see, physically, mindfully, and energetically.
I am not just a yoga teacher. I have many talents and hold many labels,
I am ME, and I am proud of who I am, the work that I've done and for not giving up.
I will keep sharing, and I'll keep holding spaces, but most importantly,
I won't forget why I came
