Wirral University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (WUTH) is not only the largest employer in Wirral but is also one of the largest and busiest acute Trusts in the North West of England

. Providing a comprehensive range of high quality acute care services, our 5871 strong workforce serves a population of approximately 400,000 people across Wirral, Ellesmere Port, Neston, North Wales and the wider North West footprint. We operate from two main sites:
• Arrowe Park Hospital, Upton – delivering a full range of emergency (adults and children) and acute services for adults in the main hospital building. The Wirral Women’s and Children’s Hospital provides Maternity, Neonatal, Gynaecology, Children’s inpatient, day case and outpatient units.
• Clatterbridge Hospital, Bebington – undertaking planned surgical services, dermatology services, breast care and specialist stroke and neuro rehabilitation services. We also provide a range of outpatient services from community locations:
• St Catherine’s Health Centre, Birkenhead – providing x-ray, community paediatric services, paediatric audiology and a range of outpatient clinics
• Victoria Central Health Centre, Wallasey – providing X ray, some outpatient services and antenatal clinics
• Other locations – a range of outpatient services are provided from GP practices, schools and children’s centres. We are also a tertiary centre providing specialist services to a wider population in Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales. As a teaching hospital of the University of Liverpool and University of Chester, we are also renowned as a leader in the region for high quality education and training for a wide range of staff including doctors, nurses and other clinicians.

Cancer patients have praised the care they receive at Wirral University Teaching Hospital in the latest National Cancer Patient Experience Survey 💙

Patients gave their overall cancer care at WUTH an average rating of 8.9 out of 10, with the Trust improving its results across 29 areas compared with the previous year.

The results also showed:

🔹 91% of patients said the time they waited at a clinic or day unit for cancer treatment was ‘about right’, compared with 80% nationally.

🔹 85% felt the wait for diagnostic test results was ‘about right’, above the national average.

🔹 Patients reported positive experiences of being treated with dignity and respect, having a named point of contact and receiving information about the support available to them.

✅Cervical screening drop-in at Arrowe Park Hospital until 4pm today

The Living Well Bus is offering cervical screening today at Arrowe Park Hospital. The bus is located in the area between the main hospital and the Women and Children’s building. The service is open to women and people with a cervix aged 25 to 64. No appointment is needed so you can drop in at a time to suit you.

If you are not sure whether you are due to be screened, the team can check your records, so please still come along.

The process is quick and discreet, and the professional team are experienced in supporting those who might feel nervous, so just let them know.

Early screening is key to preventing cancers and promoting health in our local communities. Don't put cancer screening off - it could save your life.

The Living Well Bus is coming to Arrowe Park Hospital tomorrow offering cervical screening.

Early screening is key to preventing cancers and promoting health in our local communities. Don't put if off - it could save your life.

If you're not sure whether you are due to be screened, you can find out from our friendly staff on the bus. No appointment is needed so please just come along.

The bus will be located in the area between the main hospital and the Women and Children’s building until 4pm. The service is open to women and people with a cervix aged 25 to 64.
