✨ Dolly Parton — a true legend in every sense of the word. 💕🎶

From her incredible music and unmistakable voice to her kindness, humour and generosity, Dolly has spent decades showing the world that you can stay true to yourself while making a difference to others.

She’s proof that big dreams can come from humble beginnings — and that a little bit of sparkle never hurts! 🌟

Rest peacefully, Dolly. Thank you for the music, the laughter, the memories and all the love you gave to the world. 🕊️💐

Recent news has understandably raised questions about the care people receive after they die.

At Dignity, caring for the person entrusted to us is at the heart of everything we do.

Every one of our funeral homes follows rigorous standards and procedures to ensure the highest levels of care, respect and professionalism from the moment someone comes into our care until the day of the funeral.

We’ve also increased our focus on Customer Care Standards, compliance visits, and operational observations, helping ensure best practice is consistently embedded across our branches. Alongside investment in new tools, training and ways of working, these measures reinforce our commitment to delivering safe, dignified, and respectful care every day.

We also believe everyone deserves that same reassurance, regardless of who they choose. That’s why we’ve long supported greater regulation across the funeral profession.

If you have any questions about funeral care or choosing a funeral director, we’re always here to help.

Sugar's got that look of “I know there are treats here… and I’m prepared to wait as long as necessary!” 🐶😂 Hope her lovely owner, Jo, is OK with that!

A very good girl patiently waiting outside Henry Ingram & Sons, with her tongue hanging out, her tail at the ready and her eyes firmly fixed on the prize. Melanie’s water bowl and treat station have clearly been spotted — and she’s decided this is now her favourite stop on the daily walk! 🐾💧🦴

Customer service rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Treat availability: Under constant surveillance! 😄

Today marks our final day serving families from our Newport branch as our team relocates to our other Isle of Wight locations. While it is the end of an important chapter, we are excited about the future and the opportunities this move brings. Our dedicated team remains committed to providing the same compassionate, personal care and will continue to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We look forward to supporting communities across the Island from our branches in Sandown and Ventnor for many years to come.

We would like to share the following announcement regarding the closure of Hamilton & Marshall Funeral Directors.

Closure of Hamilton & Marshall Funeral Directors, Newport .

My name is Louise Nicholls and I am the Business Manager on the Isle of Wight. I wanted to address this matter personally because the Isle of Wight matters enormously to us, and I want to make sure that the information we give you is accurate.

Trading on the Isle of Wight is important to Dignity Funeral Care and that will not change. Along with our senior leadership team, I have reviewed carefully how we can best serve Island families in a way that is sustainable for the long term. That review has led us to restructure how we operate — and I want to be open about what that means.

A full and proper consultation process has been carried out with our team, in line with our obligations and our values as an employer. Our people have been treated with the care and respect they deserve throughout and I would not have it any other way.

In terms of what this means for island families:

We are not leaving the Isle of Wight. We will continue to serve families across the whole island under three names, each one reflecting the local heritage it carries:

Hamilton & Marshall at Home will serve families right across the Isle of Wight, with our team coming to families wherever they are on the island. Whether a family is in Newport, Ryde, Cowes or anywhere else on the island, Hamilton & Marshall at Home means they will never be far from our care.

Hamilton & Marshall incorporating Downer & White will serve families from our Sandown location.

Hamilton & Marshall incorporating Henry Ingram & Sons will serve families from our Ventnor location.

The Hamilton & Marshall name will sit at the heart of everything we do on the island — but we are keeping the Downer & White and Henry Ingram & Sons names because they matter to the communities they serve, and because that local identity is something we value and want to protect.

All families with existing funeral plans will continue to be looked after without any interruption.

If you have any questions regarding our change in location please do not hesitate to contact us.
