🛑 Don't get caught short this Bank Holiday! 🛑
With a 3-day bank holiday weekend coming up, we want to make sure you have everything you need to stay healthy and enjoy the break. ☀️
💊 Please check your medication today! If you are due a repeat prescription over the bank holiday or shortly after, please submit your request to your GP as soon as possible.
▪ Why? Routine prescription requests take time to process, and pharmacies may have altered opening hours over the long weekend. Ordering early means you won’t run out!
▪ How? The quickest and easiest way to order is via the NHS App or by visiting the Prescriptions page on your GP’s website.

⚠️ RED HEAT-HEALTH ALERT: STAY SAFE
The UK Health Security Agency has issued a RED Heat-Health Alert for the South West, effective from 00:30 Wednesday 24th June to 23:30 Thursday 25th.
A Red alert indicates a significant risk to life, not just for vulnerable groups, but for everyone.

ℹ️ How to protect yourself:

✅ Stay Hydrated:Drink plenty of water and avoid excessive caffeine or alcohol.
✅ Keep Cool: Keep your home as cool as possible. Close curtains in rooms that face the sun and open windows when it is cooler outside.
✅ Limit Activity: Avoid strenuous physical activity during the hottest parts of the day.
✅ Check on Others: Keep an eye on elderly neighbours, friends, and family who may be more susceptible to heat-related illness.

If you or someone you know feels unwell, dizzy, weak, or has an intense thirst and headache, move to a cool place immediately and hydrate. 🥤

We'll continue to publish further guidance as the situation develops.

Stay safe, everyone!

Why Your Donation Matters
This year’s campaign, “One Drop of Humanity. Give Blood. Save Lives”, places humanity at the heart of every donation.

Blood donations are essential for:
✔️ Emergency Care: Supporting patients involved in accidents or trauma.
✔️ Medical Procedures: Vital for surgeries and childbirth.
✔️ Ongoing Treatment: Providing lifelines for those undergoing cancer treatment and the lifelong care of serious health conditions.

A Powerful Act of Solidarity
Every donation is much more than a simple medical act; it is a profound expression of solidarity, compassion, and collective responsibility.

Inspired by the idea that the whole of humanity can be reflected in a single drop, this campaign highlights how every donor helps form a lifeline that connects and protects us all.

Thank you to everyone who gives their time to help others—you truly are a hero to those in need.
