☀️ Stay Safe in the Sun ☀️

Too much sun can damage your skin and increase the risk of skin cancer. Sunburn in childhood can be especially harmful, so it's important to stay protected.

✅ Cover up with a t-shirt and wide-brimmed hat.
✅ Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes.
✅ Use SPF 30+ sunscreen and reapply it every 2 hours.
✅ Stay in the shade, especially between 11am and 3pm when the sun is strongest.
✅ Check your skin regularly for any new or changing moles or marks.

Remember: Clothes, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and shade are the best ways to stay safe in the sun.

☀️ Stay Safe in Hot Weather ☀️

Many people enjoy warm summer days, but very hot weather can make some people feel unwell. It can lead to dehydration, heat exhaustion or heatstroke.

Here are some simple ways to stay safe:

• Stay out of the sun between 11am and 3pm, when it is hottest.
• If you are exercising or walking the dog, try to do it in the morning or evening when it is cooler.
• Keep your home cool by closing curtains and windows in sunny rooms.
• When you go outside, wear a hat and sunglasses, stay in the shade, and use sunscreen.
• Drink plenty of water and avoid drinking too much alcohol.
• Check on family, friends and neighbours who may need extra help in the heat.
• Learn the signs of heat exhaustion and heatstroke so you know what to do if someone becomes unwell.
