People talk about self love as some kind of magic wand we can wave and feel better.

In reality, loving yourself means facing and then accepting all of your flaws, insecurities and limiting beliefs that cause you shame and discomfort.

You won't always be able to change the things you don't like about yourself but learning to accept them will make your life easier and remove a lot of the shame so many of us face.

How do you feel when you read this quote?

For me it beautifully invites us all to be our most true authentic selves. And reminds me that each of us have unique gifts to offer the world.

When we're able to understand and then express ourselves as who we really are, we can find more purpose and enjoyment from life and signal to others that it's safe for them to do the same.

If you've been feeling lost or curious about how to live more aligned to what really matters to YOU, I can help.

Comment or DM AUTHENTIC for more information.

What a bloody conundrum!

Feeling too much, too loud, too intense, too opinionated. While also feel like you're failing, not reaching your potential, too much of a burden on others.

Experiencing these conflicting feelings can be exhausting. But you don't have to stay in this inner battle alone.

Book a session with me and we'll work on

Accepting yourself exactly as you are
Celebrating what makes you you
Learning to quiet the self doubt
Making decisions that make you happy

I’ll be running a QPR Su***de Awareness and Prevention session on Zoom on Thursday 21st May (6-8 pm).
QPR stands for Question, Persuade, Refer: it’s a simple, practical steps that can help you support someone who may be struggling.
It’s often described as a bit like CPR, but for mental health.
Open to anyone: you don’t need to be a therapist.

When you hear the word ritual, what comes up for you? Do you associate it with religious or spritual ceremonies?

A ritual for me is something I do regularly, perhaps at a certain time and/or place. The one I do most often is watching the sunset from the attic at home. I often stay after the sun has disappeared, watching the sky change, the clouds roll past and listening to the birds. It always makes me feel grounded and grateful regardless of what kind of day I've had.

I've been reading about the etymology of the word and it's thought that it can be traced back to Sanskrit (an ancient Indian language), meaning aligning yourself with the natural order of things. And I love that.

Rituals can be incredibly effective in supporting our mental health. And incorporating them into your routine can help give some meaningful structure to your day, week or month.

Some easy ones to introduce could be

☕️ Sitting in the garden for 5 minutes with no devices
🎵 Listening to your favourite relaxing song before bed
✍️ Writing a page of a journal before your day begins

You might already have many rituals but just haven't realised that's what they are. If you do, see if you can notice how you feel afterwards.

🧘‍♀️ Meditation & Mantra 🧘🏻‍♀️

I'll be honest, it can often be a challenge for my ADHD brain (especially in the luteal phase - IFYKYK) to even start a meditation but this afternoon I promised myself just 10 minutes.

And that 10 minutes turned into over an hour of meditating, singing, mantras and even some dancing at the end thanks to my gorgeous friends at

They have a library of videos on YouTube so even if you can't get to one of their beautiful events (scroll to see a snap from a Kirtan gathering), you can still enjoy what they do!

Meditation can boost the happy hormones (DOSE)

✨️Dopamine
✨️Oxcitoyn
✨️Serotonin
✨️Endorphins

And lower stress hormones like cortisol, epinephrine and adrenaline.

If you've never meditated before and want to see what it's all about, I'm running 2 taster sessions at on Saturday 23rd May (check the pinned post for more details).

You don't need to be religious or spiritual to benefit from this ancient practice. And it can have profound benefits for your mental health!
