🦉 Happy Owl Awareness Day! 🦉

Today we're celebrating one of nature's most fascinating creatures – the owl! Known for their wisdom, keen senses, and quiet strength, owls remind us of the beauty and importance of the wildlife that surrounds us.

At Cera, we love finding ways to connect with nature, whether that's enjoying the birds in our gardens, sharing memories of countryside walks, or learning fun facts together. Spending time appreciating nature can spark conversations, bring back treasured memories, and support wellbeing for people of all ages.

🌳 Did you know? Many owls can rotate their heads up to 270 degrees to help them spot prey, as their eyes cannot move in their sockets!

Why not take a moment today to listen for birdsong, spot local wildlife, or share your favourite memory of seeing an owl?

💬 Have you ever seen an owl in the wild? We'd love to hear your stories in the comments!

💚 Samaritans Awareness Day 💚

Today marks Samaritans Awareness Day, also known as 24/7 Awareness Day, highlighting that support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for anyone who may be struggling.

Looking after our mental wellbeing is just as important as looking after our physical health. It's okay to not be okay, and reaching out for support is a sign of strength.

At Cera, we encourage kindness, compassion and open conversations about mental health. Whether it's checking in with a friend, listening without judgement, or seeking support yourself, every conversation matters.

If you or someone you know is finding things difficult, remember that you don't have to face it alone. Help is always available.

💚 Be kind. Be present. Be there to listen.

🌳💚 Love Parks Week 💚🌳

This Love Parks Week, we're celebrating the wonderful green spaces that bring people together and support our health and wellbeing.

Spending time outdoors can boost our mood, encourage gentle exercise and provide opportunities to connect with nature and others. Whether it's a stroll through a local park, enjoying a picnic, feeding the ducks or simply sitting in the sunshine, every visit can make a positive difference.

At Cera, we know that getting out into the community and enjoying the outdoors can play an important role in supporting physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

Why not take some time this week to visit your local park and enjoy everything it has to offer? 🌿☀️

A lovely family from the Wirral, who are going through the most heartbreaking time, have published a book to support other families going through a similar time to them.

Isabella, who is just six years old, has created a book to help other children with a poorly parent following her dad, Chris’, terminal diagnosis of cancer. The book has really helped Isabella and her family to have open and healthy conversations to ensure that the children can deal with their emotions. Following the diagnosis, the family decided not to use the word ‘cancer’ with their children, instead Chris’ illness was known as ‘Daddy’s little monsters.’

Isabella’s book, also called ‘Daddy’s Little Monsters’ is a rhyming storybook with little cartoon monsters in a way that is not scary for children. While the book was initially to help their own family, it is now available to buy on Amazon after a family friend suggested that it could also help others facing similar circumstances.

The link for the book is below, and Isabella and her family would really appreciate any purchases. Their goal is to get the book available in all treatment centres, hospitals and charities that support those with cancer. Maggie's Cancer centre is mentioned in the book as they have provided a lot of support for the family during this incredibly difficult time 💖

If you can, please consider buying this book and share this link to others, and help spread the awareness.

A beautiful, heartwarming story about a parent with an illness through a child’s perspective. Written by a child and influenced from a real-life situation.

Today, on Cheer Up the Lonely Day, we're reminded of the importance of staying connected and looking out for one another. Loneliness can affect people of all ages, but small acts of kindness can have a lasting impact.

At Cera, we're proud to support people not only with their care needs, but also by building meaningful relationships, encouraging conversation and helping people stay connected to their communities.

Why not take a few moments today to check in on a neighbour, visit a loved one, or call someone you haven't spoken to in a while? You never know how much it could brighten their day. 💜

Whether you enjoy a square of dark chocolate, a creamy milk chocolate bar, or a delicious hot chocolate, today is the perfect excuse to indulge (in moderation, of course!).

Sometimes it's the little things that brighten our day. Sharing a favourite treat, enjoying a cuppa and a chat, or reminiscing about favourite childhood sweets can create meaningful moments and bring smiles to those around us.
