🩸 Blood Cancer Awareness Month 🩸

September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month, an opportunity to raise awareness of blood cancer and support those affected by it.

Many symptoms of blood cancer can be vague and easily mistaken for other conditions, which is why awareness is so important.

Common symptoms can include:

✔️ Unexplained tiredness
✔️ Frequent infections
✔️ Unexplained bruising or bleeding
✔️ Night sweats
✔️ Unexplained weight loss

If something doesn't feel right, trust your instincts and speak to a healthcare professional. Alternatively, you can contact our Information & Outreach Support Services, Walsall Palliative Care Centre on 01922 602610, where the team will be happy to offer support and guidance.

Together, we can help raise awareness, encourage early conversations, and support those affected by blood cancer.

Self-Care Sunday: Bank Holiday Edition

Tomorrow is a Bank Holiday, which means today is the perfect day to do absolutely nothing... and call it "wellbeing."

• Stay in your pyjamas until lunchtime
• Drink tea like it's your full time job
• Ignore the laundry (it survived last week, it'll survive another day)
• Recharge your batteries before Tuesday reminds you that adulthood still exists

Be kind to yourself today. You've earned it.

Bank Holiday Saturday: Make Self-Care a Priority

With the Bank Holiday weekend almost here, why not take some time to focus on your wellbeing?

Remember self care doesn't have to be complicated. Small actions can make a big difference:

🚶 Go for a gentle walk outdoors
💧 Stay hydrated throughout the day
🍎 Enjoy nourishing meals and snacks
😴 Prioritise rest and good sleep
🧘 Take a few moments to relax and breathe deeply
📞 Connect with family, friends, or someone you trust
🌻 Do something you enjoy, whether that's reading, gardening, crafting, or listening to music

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, and relaxing Bank Holiday weekend!
