I’m incredibly proud to share that Rebecca Lisi Therapy has been shortlisted as a finalist for Best Social Impact at the UK Small Business Awards 2026, representing Oxfordshire.

For me, this recognition means so much because the work I do has always been about more than business.

It’s about people.

It’s about creating better conversations around mental health, helping people understand themselves and their nervous systems, supporting workplaces to become healthier environments, and making psychological support and education more accessible.

I genuinely believe community has a huge impact on our mental health. When people feel connected, understood and supported, it can change everything.

I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has trusted me, worked with me, collaborated with me, referred people to me and supported my business along the way.

Being a finalist is an achievement I’m very proud of and a lovely reminder of why I do what I do.

Another shortlist nomination- but this one really matters to me.

I’m truly honoured and incredibly grateful to have been shortlisted for the Best Community Contribution award in the Small Business Awards.

As a psychotherapist, I’ve seen first-hand how powerful community can be. We all need to feel that we belong, that we’re seen, and that we don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. Genuine connection can be a protective factor for our mental health, helping us build resilience, reduce isolation and remind us that support is available.

That’s why community has always been at the heart of my business. Whether I’m delivering workshops, working with organisations, supporting local initiatives or sitting with someone one-to-one in therapy, my aim is always the same: to help create healthier, more connected communities where people feel able to thrive.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has trusted me, collaborated with me and supported my work. Whatever the outcome, I’m proud to be shortlisted alongside so many people making a positive difference in our community.

When was the last time your team had mental health training?

A year ago? Two years ago? Never?

Mental health training isn't something you do once and forget.
People change. Teams change. Workplaces change.

A refresher helps your people recognise the early signs of stress, have confident conversations and know how to respond before problems escalate.

If it's been more than 12 months, it's probably time.

I deliver practical, psychology-led mental health training for SMEs that gives staff real skills they can use immediately.

Ready to refresh your team's knowledge? Send me a message to discuss a session for your business.

Thank you Jane Abbott for inviting me to speak at the Oxfordshire Women In Business gathering yesterday. So lovely to see so many friendly faces from my network and meet many new ones too.

My talk looked at the real reason high achieving individuals end up running on empty and while the usual advice doesn’t fix it.

We’ve been treating a nervous system problem with surface-level solutions.

When we're under chronic stress, the part of the brain responsible for strategic thinking and decision-making literally loses blood flow. Many of us are trying to run businesses from a brain in survival mode.

Burnout isn't a character flaw. It's a physiological state. And completing the stress response isn't the same as resolving the stressor.

There are evidence-based ways to regulate your nervous system that go beyond self-care clichés and the research on what actually works is more accessible than most people realise.
You are not failing at self-care. You've just been given the wrong tools.

Interested in bringing this conversation into your organisation? I work with businesses on the neuroscience of stress and burnout through workshops and keynotes.

Feeling stressed, irritable or anxious in this heat? You’re not alone.

For some people, warmer weather brings sunshine and joy. For others, it can feel overwhelming, exhausting and dysregulating.

Heat can affect our sleep, energy levels and nervous system, leaving us feeling more on edge than usual.

The constant media headlines about “extreme heat” and warnings can also fuel anxiety and make us feel even more unsettled.

If you’re finding it all a bit too much today, try to bring your focus back to what you can control:

☀️ Stay hydrated.
☀️ Rest where you can.
☀️ Keep cool and slow things down.
☀️ Limit doom-scrolling and constant news updates.
☀️ Be kind to yourself.

You don’t need to love the heat or “make the most of it.” You simply need to take care of yourself in it.

Your nervous system will thank you for it. 💛

With temperatures soaring, here's an important reminder:

Some antidepressants can affect your body's ability to regulate temperature and may increase the risk of dehydration, dizziness and heat-related illness.

If you're taking antidepressants:
• Stay hydrated
• Avoid prolonged time in direct sun
• Watch for dizziness, headaches or unusual fatigue
• Speak to your GP or pharmacist if you have concerns

This isn't a reason to stop medication. It's simply a reminder that medication, mental health and physical health are all connected.

Take care of yourselves in the heat and check in on those who may be more vulnerable.
