❌ PCOS was always a bit of an inaccurate name.

Polycystic means ‘many cysts’.
Firstly, they aren’t cysts, they are follicles.
Secondly, you can have this ‘syndrome’ without having ‘cysts’ on your follicles.

📢 But PCOS has been renamed PMOS, Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome.

Polyendocrine - many hormone systems are involved.

Metabolic - insulin resistance is a key part of the diagnosis.

Ovarian - still relevant to ovarian function and fertility.

Syndrome - just means a collection of signs and symptoms that commonly appear together.

🧠 So there we are! Just have to remember it now!

I love a patient testimonial like this.
This type of case is so satisfying, especially when doctors are stumped! It’s great to see the improvements made with acupuncture but also to see those improvements allowing the patient to stop sleep and pain medication and enable them to take other steps to increase their fitness and strength to help with pain. Love it!

Trying to conceive can be overwhelming with advice from well meaning friends and family.
You are not the same as them.
