Update on Merlin’s Treatment – Thank You for Walking With Us
Dear friends and supporters,
I want to take a moment to sincerely thank each one of you for your prayers, generosity, and encouragement. Knowing that so many people are standing with us has been a source of strength during some very difficult days.
Since my last update, Merlin travelled to CMC Hospital, Vellore, in December 2025 for further evaluation and to prepare for the next stage of her treatment. After repeat tests and careful assessment, the doctors advised that she return in January to begin chemotherapy as part of the process leading toward a bone marrow transplant.
Merlin was admitted to the hospital on 29 January, and she is now in the middle of her chemotherapy treatment. The past week has been incredibly challenging. She has experienced several difficult side effects, including fever, complications related to her blood counts, and has had to undergo frequent tests and monitoring.
Over the last couple of days, her Hemoglobin and platelet levels dropped significantly, which was frightening for all of us. She required multiple blood and platelet transfusions, but we are grateful to share that she is currently stable and being closely cared for by the medical team.
At the same time, doctors are continuing the search for a suitable bone marrow donor. This process involves many detailed tests, and we are waiting for results while trusting that the right match will be found in time.
This journey is far from easy — physically, emotionally, and financially — but your continued support gives us hope. Whether through donations, prayers, messages, or simply sharing Merlin’s story, every gesture reminds us that we are not alone.
As a family, we continue to place our hope in God, trusting Him for strength, wisdom for the doctors, and grace for each day ahead.
